Kerry's Regrets About John Edwards

He was comfortable after his conversations with Gephardt, but even queasier about Edwards after they met. Edwards had told Kerry he was going to share a story with him that he'd never told anyone elsethat after his son Wade had been killed, he climbed onto the slab at the funeral home, laid there and hugged his body, and promised that he'd do all he could to make life better for people, to live up to Wade's ideals of service. Kerry was stunned, not moved, because, as he told me later, Edwards had recounted the same exact story to him, almost in the exact same words, a year or two beforeand with the same preface, that he'd never shared the memory with anyone else. .
On the day the Edwards pick was made public, Edwards and I talked for the first time since I had informed him of our decision to work for Kerry and he had reacted angrily. He said he knew I'd helped get him on the ticket and he was grateful. I told him that I welcomed the possibility that we might be friends again, but that wasn't the reason for my preference. I believed it was the right move for Kerry. Kerry's relationship with Edwards would sour after the electionand mine would simply fade away. When Elizabeth discovered she had breast cancer, John and Teresa reached out to help the Edwardses find the best doctors they could. Marylouise and I calledbut afterward, never heard from John again. Maybe we shouldn't have expected to. Kerry told me that the Edwardses simply stopped returning calls or talking to him and Teresa. Within months, Edwards started preparing for a bid in 2008. Kerry said that he wished he'd never picked Edwards, that he should have gone with his gut.

Kerry is most upset because John Edwards has his own money and didn’t have to marry into it. He also has better hair than Kerry, which isn’t saying much. Also, Edwards’ wife isn’t addicted to those gin-soaked raisins.

Right, is was all about “the hair” to appeal to the female voters.
God willing, American women will see through this disgusting manipulation and reject sexist politics.

He also has better hair than Kerry, personally, i think Kerry has better hair... i don't think John Edwards has nice hair... it's too fine... and lacks body... i think Bill Clinton has better hair than both of them... not that i would vote for somebody based on their hair... i would vote for Dick Cheney and Fred Thompson before i'd vote for Kerry, Edwards and Clinton... (i know, this conversation is silly... please disregard my comments...)
To: Baladas
Kerry said that he wished he'd never picked Edwards, that he should have gone with his gut.Does this mean labeling him a flip flopper was wrong?
To: Baladas
Kerry said that he wished he'd never picked Edwards, that he should have gone with his gut.
Nothing earth-shattering there: another Kerry flipflop.
At least Kerry didn't blame the Edwards pick as being the fault of a staffer recommending Edwards. That would have been more in character with Kerry.

Y’know, if someone shared that kind of thing with me, I’d keep my trap shut about it—especially if I thought it would somehow end up in a National publication. Looks like Kerry couldn’t even do that. They both make me sick.

Kerry was surprised that John Edwards, a trial lawyer who made his fortune sucking off the grief of others, played him? Kind of funny actually....when someone gets bit by his own kind.

In all fairness, I don’t care about their hair. Apparently they do, however. They both spend a lot of money and time trying to improve their appearance. There is nothing that they can do to appear masculine.

This is truly a gratuitous hit piece, a story that didn't need to be written, a trashy story, so I conclude that Time does not want Edwards to get the nomination. Maybe they're jumping on the Al Gore ("I'm The Smartest Man In The World") bandwagon.

To: ElkGroveDan
I won’t judge anyone by things they did while overcome with grief over the the death of their child. I hope I’m never in a position to find out how I’d handle that. But recounting such an unusual and intensely personal reaction years later (if it even really happened) to impress people and score political points is sick. But not QUITE as sick as this Shrum dude repeating it to the whole world.

Why in the heck is a liberal magazine like Time dissing John Edwards in this article? My guess is that this ultimately comes from Hillary Clinton. Despite his recent pratfalls there has been the danger that Edwards might catch on as a darling of the leftist-extremist Dhimmicrat base and "net-roots". Edwards has been the farthest left, both on Iraq and domestic/economic policy, of all the possibles (i.e. excluding the not possibles like Kookcinich).
The last thing Hillary wants is for the Dhimmicrat base to find a champion, a la Howard Dean (pre-scream). The last thing she wants is any air of enthusiasm in the Dhimmicrat primary battles. She hopes to grimly push through to the nomination on "inevitability".

Why in the heck is a liberal magazine like Time dissing John Edwards in this article? 1. Shrum is a Dem insider so Time wants to stay connected with him.
2. Edwards is running against Hillary and Obama. The commielibs want Dems to have a choice between Marxist A and Marxist A+.

I'm not sure I can decide what's most disturbing. Is it Edwards for using his son to score political points? Or perhaps it's Kerry for retelling the store to Bob Sc
hrum. Or should I go with Schrum for making it all public?
The three of them seem to deserve each other. Nothing more than a bunch of backstabbing political whores.

Oh, how heart-wrenching it is to hear the tribulations of these self-indulgent, blow-dried, hyper-rich liberal playbabies. If America had elected this vapid filth, then we'd have deserved whatever wrath God had chosen fit to inflict upon us. There are tribes in the darkest part of Africa that have more personal and cultural esteem than these Leftist dungpiles, and I'd certainly rather they lived in my community than a Klinton, Kerry, or Edwards.
