Gruesome 'Rambo IV' Trailer Slays on Internet (Not For Weak Stomach's)

Gruesome 'Rambo' Trailer Slays on Internet

http://video.aol.com/video-search/id/4151401962

When a movie series has been dormant for nearly 20 years, what's the best way to resurrect it? For 'Rambo,' it's with cartoonish violence and tons of viral buzz.

The trailer for 'John Rambo,' the newest installation in Sylvester Stallone 's Vietnam Vet-turned-vigilante series, was posted online earlier this week, and has generated movie Internet buzz akin to the "Snakes on a Plane" phenomenon. On Youtube, the two clips have garnered more than a million views.

Gore, Guts and Tons of Buzz Click Here to Watch the 'John Rambo' Trailer (Warning: Extremely Graphic Content) 'Rambo' Isn't the Only Thing Making Headlines for Stallone:

http://video.aol.com/video-search/id/4151401962

The footage in the trailer is more "Grindhouse" than "Platoon," showing Stallone as John Rambo ripping out a man's throat, gunning a man in a truck to pulp, decapitating another and disemboweling a foe in the gruesome 3 1/2 minute clip.

The Hollywood Reporter hints that Stallone and 'John Rambo' could hit a ratings snag unless they tone down the violence a bit, as the Motion Picture Association of America could slap the film with the dreaded NC-17 rating.

"If they end up cutting back on the violence, what will the reaction be? There could be an interesting backlash," author Eric Lichtenfeld told the Hollywood Reporter.

Action's Elder Statesmen It's not just you who's getting older, so are your celluloid heroes.

Another hurdle "John Rambo" may face is the same fate that "Snakes on a Plane" suffered -- lots of pre-release Internet buzz without the box office results to back it up. And with the release date for "Rambo" set for May 25 of 2008, there could be too much time for fans to tire out of the gory hype.

Besides "Rambo," Stallone has had other things on his mind lately. He recently plead guilty to illegally importing muscle-building human growth hormones into Australia, and was slapped with a fine for the offense.

Stallone is a left-wing has been. I must admit, however, to enjoying “Rocky Balboa” aka Rocky VI.

Rocky Balboa and Apocalypto were films of the year for me last year. Balboa was the perfect ending to the Rocky films.

Rocky Balboa was the movie that Rocky V should have been. I was going in thinking that it would be a joke, but found it to be very well written. Kudos to Sly for a job well done.

Another hurdle “John Rambo” may face is the same fate that “Snakes on a Plane” suffered — lots of pre-release Internet buzz without the box office results to back it up.

I see a combined sequel as a win-win possibility...

Snakes on Rambo!

Samuel Jackson: I said we got some MF snakes on MF Rambo! Do you understand what I’m saying you MF!

Sylvester Stallone: Yo Adrienne, I think this one is a Python.

Samuel Jackson: I said we got some MF snakes on MF Rambo! I did not say we have some MF snakes on MF Rocky! Do you got that you MF!

Sylvester Stallone: Sorry about that. You know I think I made too many sequels. How about we get a Polaroid together, me and you. Alright?

Samuel Jackson: You dumb MF!

L-L-L-L-LAME!
Just because you can visually depict violence on an entirely different now as opposed to the implied (AL)gore of days gone past, it still doesn't’t make the necessarily good. Story seems lame and contrived.... will wait to see it on cable, wont even bother with the DVD.

I don’t think that they will ever make a movie about one particular person going after OBL. The guy had better change his name and go into hiding because Al-Qaeda will try to get him just to prove a point. Don’t forget that OBL is a member of the ROP and not just some wild-eyed murderer.

Hey did Sly go to Canada during Vietnam, or was that just a bogus rumor?

Also I agree with everyone else. He should go to say Pakistan or Iran to fight radical Islam. Now that would be interesting. Not Burma.... I think I am going to pass on this one all together..

They will play up the buzz on the graphic violence then cut the over the top stuff out at the least minute to get an R rating. Then they will put it back in for the Unrated Directors Cut DVD.

Don't. I hope I'm not going to express an unpopular view point but I appreciate violence, blood and gore in movies! I always have! Ever since I was a kid and marvelled over the special effects that masters like Tom Savini contributed to films.

Let's be honest. Movies are escapism and sometimes guys like me just really want to see the blood and guts! Not everything needs to be rendered "Safe For Children." If John Rambo wants to rip out some throats, splattering the stage with karo syrup and red food coloring while providing me with 95 minutes of mindless entertainment, then let's not pussy out on the bloodshed!

Jeez! Isn't that why we watch movies in the first place?!?!

That is a good point, and a great idea. The trailer is surprisingly (nothing's shocking anymore) graphic. It was probably meant for a leak to guage interest.

Just seen the trailer... I don't see any troublesome scene as for my opinion... it's just the straight reality of what war is if that is what the director's of this film want's to emphasize...

I would prefer to watch this instead of Spidey, Shrek, and Pirates combined.

But there should be an appropriate precautions for the viewers especially for the younger ages.

If WOT is fought that way... it will scare the heck out of the muzzies... sarc

“Heard Shrek 3 and Pirates 3 sucked also.”

I found Shrek 3 entertaining, and a pretty decent family movie. But then again, my kids are 6, 8 and 10, and they seemed to really enjoy it.

If I was going on a date with my wife or hanging out with my friends, this would not have been the movie to pick.

But if you have little kids, they’ll enjoy it.

Spiderman III was great. It was basically a Christian movie, about redemption, forgiveness and the hold that evil has when it takes us over, and how our lower nature feeds that evil’s hold on us.

The VC were really out of their element in jungle combat. Their conventional tactics made them sitting ducks for tricky, American guerillas like Rambo.

Thank you very much for posting that. I will be making future entertainment decisions based on that information. I thought because Stallone appeared on Rush a couple of months back, I assumed he was Conservative. He MAY be a Republican, but obviously as liberal as Rudy. If I am willing enough to sit out an election if Rudy gets the nomination, then I am just as willing to boycott movies and shows with Stallone in them. I don't feel like giving anti-gunners financial support.
