It provides a positive ID so we can finally take action against employers that hire illegals.

So existing immigration laws are chopped liver then, right? Employers ALREADY KNOW who's legal and who's illegal, per the multiple SS numbers & phony names the illegals provide.

It provides for a guest worker program that will allow illegals to come out of the shadows so we know who and where they are.

How about SEALING the borders first smart guy. You plug the leak first and then worry about saving a few cents on produce. Personally, there should be no guest worker programs. Kill the welfare state and let the leeches get out there and work for a living or else they starve.

How about impeaching Judges who coddle the lawbreakers too?

Works for me.

Hell, 9/11 was six years ago. If the politicians cared about security, they would have done something in 2002. I know you believe that we’ll get the fence if this bill passes. I don’t think, under this current administration, we’ll get the fence either way. Depending on what happens in the 2008 elections...... maybe then we’ll get the fence.

...and it is MY job to vote or reject potential candidates for the Presidency.
You McCain do not measure up.
Failed based on personality, stature, and the placing of personal interests over that of the nation.

Buh-bye!

"...impeaching Judges who coddle the lawbreakers.."

That would be the southern judges that probably never see an illegal in court because the local police are instructed by the legislators to leave their cash cows alone. :)~

want to kill a bill that will keep more from coming.

Please explain that. Youre granting millions of illegals legal status and youre never ever going to build 700 miles of fence, under this bill.

Theres no stopping these people without reforming the Mexican government. Its better to do nothing on the Federal level and let the locals deal with it, than pass this bill. Unless you just want to accelerate the status quo.

If we don’t get the fence I predict civil unrest, the masses against our own businessmen. Let’s not go there.

You are living in Lala land with the Dems if you think the border states are EVER going to incarcerate their main source of revenue.

I'm not sure how you got where you are with this. What I suggested are tasks for the feds, not the states.

The idea of cutting federal funds to states that allow the sanctuary cities to continue to fail to report the arrest of illegals is to make them obey the law, the same thought as threatening the tax-exempt status of churches who violate the law.

"If you think this is no good, this compromise that has been forged with the leadership of the president of the United States and conservatives and liberals in both parties, then what is your proposal that will pass the Congress of the United States?""

Okay, I propose a deal that over 80 per cent of American Citizens would approve. Time these idjits realized that they are acting on behalf of us -- not their own little country club set.

Try 'No Amnesty' for starters and go from there. Shouldn't take but five minutes .

I'd like to see less of "Kill the Bill" and more a guarantee for the fence.

But kill the bill has all the money.

I got there because of talking to people from the border states. The local police don’t catch these people. They are the first line of defense.

“...and that it’s possible to prevent illegals from coming here.”

Uh, how many do you think would be coming if we SERIOUSLY began ferreting out and fining employers who hired them? The number would go down to near ZERO.

One good and easy way to start would be to observe the corners where groups hang out for day labor. Illegals get picked up for labor, authorities then stop vehicle, arrest all including the driver/employer AND seize the vehicle. Do this a few times and the “third world hiring halls” would disappear.

“Let’s not go there”.

Why not? Let’s go there. I think what could happen at some point 10-20 years distant is Americans will just stop paying taxes.

Every serious analysis of the illegals flood shows a massive drain on the government coffers; a tab which will picked up by the taxpayers. I was looking at my finances the other day. I pay Federal tax, State tax, local tax, property taxes (both to the county and school district), social security taxes, hotel taxes, airport taxes, phone taxes, gasoline taxes, tolls, and fees. It’s about 50-55% of my income. To keep the entitlement system from collapsing under the strain of retiring Baby Boomers and freeloading illegals, taxes will go up. When you are asking the producing Americans to pay 70-80% of their income in taxes, you are risking them refusing to pay. The government doesn’t think it can deport 12 million aliens, what if 20 million Americans didn’t pay their taxes?

Never gonna happen without a compromise unless you got a deep pocket somewhere to completely overhaul the economic system of Arizona, Texas, California and NM.

>>>>>Rudy only opposes a small part, but he has no problem with granting amnesty. Forked tongue speaks again.

Exactly. The fix is in. Rooty says he opposes this latest liberal immigration fiasco in the making, but in actuality he supports it. If this bill passes in the House and once Bush will sign it into law, the GOP`s future ain't worth a warm bucket of spit. More socialism for the good old USA!

I would have been with you about 1965, right now it would be the North against the south all over again. Not a pretty picture.

"No. The "new crop" would be legal. We would know who they are and where they are, which is not the case today.

That statement is in itself a "CROP"! According to your Dream, if this bill were to pass and be signed into law, not a single alien would ever break the law and slither into this country. They would all come through the proper border check points. But ... they are coming in today and by tomorrow the will have documents that say they have been here since 1999.

How about a provision to this bill that states, "if you are currently in the U.S. illegally then you have 6 months from the date this bill becomes law to register with the U.S. Immigration service other wise you will remain illegal and be deported."

Preventing this bill from passing is really supporting the status quo.

The principal benefit of the status quo is that illegal aliens don't get to vote. And that's fine with me.
