I must add that because Islam's system of control is being challenged by the advanced world around them, they now realize that to preserve their world they must overtake the world around them. The Jihad is their strategy to destroy those who challenge their system of control.

All that is clear is that there must be explanations in the history of the Arab civilization that brought forth the world religion of Islam. This civilization reached its apogee at the time of the Caliphate. At this time, it was far superior to Europe in military, economic and cultural terms. It's a matter of values.

If Moslems started declaring that God was strong enough to bring His kingdom about in HIs own time and that He did not need the service of killers, torturers, thugs and bullies, I might have a bit more respect for the religion.
