LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Former President Carter says President Bush's administration is "the worst in history" in international relations, taking aim at the White House's policy of pre-emptive war and its Middle East diplomacy.
The criticism from Carter, which a biographer says is unprecedented for the 39th president, also took aim at Bush's environmental policies and the administration's "quite disturbing" faith-based initiative funding.
"I think as far as the adverse impact on the nation around the world, this administration has been the worst in history," Carter told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette in a story that appeared in the newspaper's Saturday editions. "The overt reversal of America's basic values as expressed by previous administrations, including those of George H.W. Bush and Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon and others, has been the most disturbing to me."

His negative criticism is proof that Bush's foreign policy is spot on!
What a loser, Moron, P.O.S. and everything else I left out.
Wow. Jimmah Carter is more of an idiot today then he was 30 years ago.
Yawn.....I’m sorry Jimmy, were you saying something?
Jimmy mention how much better he’d like Bush if he were a third world dictator? Preferably one with large numbers of the ruled living in abject squalor.
Maybe, but he has always been an idiot.
The good news is that he is no longer dangerous like the old days. I recall the disbelief when he beat Ford, still shake my head on that one.
My how the south has changed.
and drove mortgage interest rates to their highest levels in the history of this nation
I find it hard to believe it is worse than Hitler's, Stallin's and Carter's.
I dont hate much in life, but I can proudly say I hate Jimmy Carter. When that POS dies, this American will not fly his flag at half mast.
A badge of honor if there ever was one.
Seriously, God, You can drop a lightning bolt on that guy any time now.
Remember the price of gasoline?
How about the fireside chat with Jimbo wearing a sweater and asking everyone to set their thermostats to 55 degrees?
Man, those were the days. I really missed Carter... and he is awfully lucky I did! (Humor alert to the NSA sniffers)
Who cares what Jimmah has to say about anything. He is so over and has been over for such a long time I’d never even think of him if he wasn’t mentioned here once in a while. He could have died ten years ago and I’d never have missed him. He is such a zero.
Carter the useless moron is a great example of a Democrat Ass.
Evidently history did not teach all those Ross Perot voters a damn thing, because in the end it gave us another Cigar Chomping Hill Billy with no class from Hope.
It looks like those same fool me once shame on me Ross voters are about to be fooled for a second time if they help Hellary or Osama Obama get to POTUS.
Only this time there will not be any way to repair the damage left behind by the Cut and Run Socialist Democrats.
Carter is irrelevant. I’m not the biggest fan of the President especially with his cheer leading of the current immigration bill but he deserves credit for doing what Carter would have never did which was to stand up to and go after the enemy.
I’ll bet two rescued EDS employees against two burning helicopters and several dead service members that Ross Perot was a better commander than Carter.
I don't actually (shamed) but I remember my first car, (I was sixteen) a Ford Boss 302, Grabber Blue that my father helped me buy.
Of course I let the kids in auto shop circa '73 work on it.
Kids these days have no idea what a fast car is.
Just let him keep talking. Each time he goes on the air and the MSM carries his message...he loses points. The media is helping to take apart the Carter legacy...whatever remained...and the pitiful old guy is simply a dismal shell of his former self.
He has really become hateful. He has went beyond mere criticism. He is an embarrassment.
As an American and a US Army veteran I struggled with this question but in the end the only reasoning I found I needed was:
its Jimmy f’ing Carter.......
Thank God for Ronald Reagan.
This is something that he can not afford to sweep under the rug.
Bush reminds me of the policeman played by Robert De Niro in the movie Mad Dog and Glory.
Finally when his back is pushed against the wall he stands up for himself and fights back.
I hope that Bush will finally see that lots of people are wondering if he will.....(fill in the blank).
Agreed! If he wants to meet America’s all-time worst president, he only needs to look in the mirror....
It’s shameful the way the mainstream media keeps exploiting Jimmy Carter’s madness for a few headlines.
That man is so terrified at being labeled “The Worst President in History,” that he has to claim everybody else is.
Okay, I’m the worst President in history. Now get some sleep, Jimmy. And you reporters still trying to score your first Pulitzer, leave that man alone, already.
They only let Jimmy out of the nursing home on weekends, perhaps that is two days too many.
Oh, I don’t know; Jimmy Carter reminds me of my grandfather.
Grampa used to beat me with his shoe. I hated that old coot.
Jimmy Carter is a buffoon
Just don’t fly it that day at all. Sends the right message without dishonoring the flag.
POS being the most accurate call.
And was the reason why the misery index was created.
In my home town during his reign of terror, when McDonald’s advertised counter jobs people would line up, literally by the hundreds. Imagine grown men and women competing for jobs alongside high school kids. It was pathetic.
His comment about Blair being disgustingly and blindly loyal, well Carter and the DNC have actually been disgustingly and blindly disloyal at the worst possible time.
I disregard Carters comments anymore. I try to give consideration to his age instead of getting angry. What he said about "pre-emptive" is so nonsensical it is almost insane. Responding to a deliberate act of war which killed 3,000 citizens is NOT pre-emptive, it is reactive... and we don't know how many more would have died if the last plane had hit its target.
Even the most stupid of people will KNOW that hiding behind the cloak of terrorism will NOT keep their little puppets safe from the U.S. ARMY. And WORSE, they now have FREEDOM and WOMENS RIGHTS blooming all around them. God is Good!
Then that leaves only one alternative. Properly dispose of Old Glory on the day of Jimmy’s death, and don’t replace her until after the half-mast period ends.
“I dont hate much in life, but I can proudly say I hate Jimmy Carter. When that POS dies, this American will not fly his flag at half mast.”
I would participate in a mass grave pissing contest for this one. He is indeed a POS - and undoubtedly the worst president in my lifetime (he runs a close race for that “honor” with FDR. The third most dispicable is Woodrow Wilson - responsible for allowing the bankers to establish the Federal Reserve.
I’m guessing fourth on your despicable list is Nixon, for moving us off the gold standard.
How’d I do?
pjr,
Freakin’ hilarious! I’m going to give deference to Americans 50+ years from now about their opinion about the best/worst president than this Castro toe licking nut. I as a Gen Xer am not fooled by the media, and I know that we are reaping now what Carter created. I want to show respect for a former commander-in-chief but he makes it so stinkin’ difficult. Carter criticizing Bush reminds me of those first few episodes of American Idol where the contestants who can’t sing think they can sing and then can’t deal with the reality check dealt by the judges (conservatives) when they’re told they were atrocious. And then the contestant who can’t sing (Jimma) runs crying into the arms of his/her parents (media/Fidel) who quickly console their crying can’t sing worth a lick child telling them that they’re the greatest and that everyone else is just jealous and that they’ll be a superstar in the history books. G’nite.
Too many Carter postings.
I have zero respect for Jimmy Carter. For this reason it pains me to hear this from him because I didn’t think it was possible to have a negative degree of respect for the man. But I do. So now, I have -2 respect for Jimmy Carter. If there was an ounce of common sense, an ounce of wisdom, an ounce of decency in Carter, he would shut up and quit running the President down. Carter was a laughing stock President. Now he is just an old, withered, sad, sad man.
