There are some made in DR (what most cigar smokers in the US smoke) and there are some made in Cuba.

We don’t know which ones Fred had and we don’t know the circumstances in which he got them, if they are Cuban.

Fred Thompson is engaging in a battle of wits with an unarmed man(?). That should be worth seeing.

Montecristos, like many other Cuban cigars, are made elsewhere as well as Cuba. Those made outside Cuba are sold here in the US. Those made in Cuba may be purchased in countries having no trade embargo against Cuba.

It could be that Fred has the real Cubans. Or it could be that American Spectator is wrong. But, as you point out, just because the box says ‘Montecristo’, doesn’t mean they come from Cuba.

Sounds like another “Rooty Tooter” with their panties in a bunch

From viewing some of his posts, I'd say he's more one who'd go to the mat for Mitt.

You have the honor of having asked the silliest question I’ve heard in quite some time.

Pot is illegal to possess, therefore, if someone gave you some pot and you were caught with it, you would be guilty of the crime of possessing pot.

Cuban cigars, on the other hand, are not illegal to possess, therefore, if you are caught possessing Cuban cigars, the worst that might happen is someone might ask if they could have one.

You mean he's 'Full of Mitt!'...

Actually, I'd disMitt his remarks offhand.

Moore always starts controversy when he's working on a new film as a way to garner interest in it.

Thompson will ignore him as well he should.

This is a no win situation for Thompson. It just gives legitimacy to that goof ball.

name deadFred's most notable accomplishment, besides voting for McCain/Feingold.

How about getting rid of the Independent Counsel law?

How about getting the government to actually perform an audit on itself?

How about bringing down a sitting governor for corruption, as a prosecutor?

I have to disagree with your assessment that it is not illegal to possess Cuban cigars. Unless he got them while he was in Cuba on a state sanctioned trip to Cuba and brought them back only for her personal use.

As far as I’m aware it is illegal to merely possess Cuban cigars in this country.

Is that supposed to be clever, or are you just content with the fact that it rhymes?
