I was 3 years old and I remember thinking Johnson had it done.

OK, so I don’t remember.

If it was a conspiracy, the tracks have all been covered. If it wasn’t, there were no tracks to begin with.

So I don’t really care.

A better headline would be Deathbed confession alleged by son who wants to sell a book.

Didn't Woody Harrelson already do this?

Everyone in my eighth grade science class was certain that the Klan was behind it.

I have believed this since the day it happened.

Are you refering to Arlen’s defense of the “magic bullet” found by the Warren Commission?

I don’t lose any sleep over it either for the same reasons except, it would really piss me off at the government that by now, so many would have known and so many did so little.

It would make the last minutes of JFK and Kevin Costner’s closing statements be more true, then fiction.

Here we go again. People, Kennedy was killed by a lone nut, Lee Harvey Oswald...end of story. These conspiracy theories keep arising because Democrats just can’r wrap their minds around the fact that some loser took out their hero.

Shame on you - coming to a Kennedy assassination thread, throwing logic around like that and spoiling everyone's fun.

Wet blanket.

I heard the tape a week ago, it is quite interesting. This could be hugh.

Seriesly, not if you're counting on the MSM to spread the word. I always thought LBJ was involved, but am not too sure I believe the source, Hunt.

Yup! Didn’t he come up with that theory?

Or maybe can’t wrap their minds around the fact that a Democrat did it. Et Tu Brute?

Nothing could make remarks like "we must avenge our fallen king!" ring true. That line was really a lapse on Stone's part.

Who said a perpetrator can't be a patsy?

(I don't think it was Jack Ruby.)

That was not the only closing statement, he went on for 5 minutes on how the people will have lost the country if they allow this to happen.

In November 2003, the History Channel ran a week-long special on the JFK assassination. Each night examined the various theories. Most of them were too complicated and cock-eyed to have any credibility. Particularly "the CIA did it" theory. We've all seen how leaky and unreliable that agency is.

Then came the night on the "LBJ had it done" theory. Very simple and straightforward in covering motive, opportunity and execution. Very credible with the small number of people involved as well as their track record in helping LBJ's rise in Texas politics. Particular telling was when they interviewed LBJ's former mistress who once asked him about this theory. She said it was the only time she'd ever seen LBJ get angry at her and warned her in no uncertain terms to ever speak of it again.

I disagree that LBJ was in any way capable of it. LBJ was in his element making good-old-boy deals across a table and/or room, but was intimidated as hell by the White House advisors he found when he took office. He deferred to them almost completely on virtually everything since they all had Harvard and Yale degrees, and he figured they were smarter than he was.

A man like that doesn’t cook up a murder scheme.
