| WASHINGTON, May 1, 2007 Hundreds of musicians from across the country will pay tribute to the nations fallen heroes on Armed Forces Day, May 19, in an event called EchoTaps.
The first EchoTaps was held in 2005, when nearly 700 brass players from 30 states gathered in upstate New York to perform the military bugle call Taps. Buglers performed a continuous cascading version of Taps over a 42.2-mile path between the Woodlawn National Cemetery in Elmira and Bath, N.Y. |

Wish I could join them ,but my lip is gone.
How absolutely wonderful! I lost my father 2 years ago (Korean War vet) and my sister and I were in agreement that he have the 21 gun salute and Taps. God Bless the local men in the American Legion and VFW who provide those services locally for vets.
I have not been able to hear Taps bugled since without getting a lump in my throat. I liked it before but it has a different meaning for me now....
*ETA, the different meaning for me now is that it is more intense, more emotional. After I posted, I realized that I sounded like I liked it before but not now. I love it even more now.
