Feinstein’s Cardinal shenanigans [caught in huge financial corruption scam]
The Hill ^

Anyone who knows much about real power in Congress knows that almost every member of the House and Senate lusts after a seat on the Appropriations Committee and hopes one day to achieve the status of Cardinal. The Cardinals, of course, are the folks who chair the various Appropriations Committee subcommittees and literally control the billions of dollars that pass through their hands.
California Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D) chairs the Senate Rules Committee, but shes also a Cardinal. She is currently chairwoman of the Interior, Environment and Related Agencies subcommittee, but until last year was for six years the top Democrat on the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies (or Milcon) sub-committee, where she may have directed more than $1 billion to companies controlled by her husband.
If the inferences finally coming out about what she did while on Milcon prove true, she may be on the way to morphing from a respected senior Democrat into another poster child for congressional corruption.

Lest we not forget, the Congress is the most corruptable group of people in America...and that is nothing new, it is just getting worse because lawlessness in Washington is acceptable (especially if you are a ThugoRat) and it just goes on unchallenged...legislation for sale...lobbyists run amuck...etc, etc.

Like in most things, it takes folks holding their feet to the fire. Diane is wide open and this gets right to the core of the "Black" which called the kettle pot!
The Dems are the ultimate when it comes to corruption. Reporting is the secret. Newspapers gotta sell. Remember Captain Ed made his name reporting on the Scandal in Canada.

There was a small book published about 8 years ago, titled
Don't Shoot the Bastards - Yet, by Ckaire wolfe, Loompanics unlimited, 1999; ISBN 1-55950-189-8.
The subtitle, 101 More Ways to Salvage Freedom, and the title of chapter 10, Why should they Stop if Nobody Punishes Them? pretty much gives us a hint that this is not a new problem...

It should be fully investigated and, if true, she should be indicted along with her hubby. The AG though is under so much pressure, he will never do it - he does not have the spine.

This story first came out about a month ago on an Internet site but has yet to reach the MSM. I smell a cover up. I live in the SF Bay Area, which is Feinstein’s residency. Not one branch of the bay area media has covered this story. If this is not a cover up nothing is. We will see if the Hill, which is paper for DC insiders, will cause it to be covered by the MSM. I have my doubts.
To: pabianice
I can’t believe it got this much coverage.

There's hope on the prosecution.
Remember that this falls squarely in the lap of the U. S. Attorneys resident in California. There is at least a chance that one will want to make a reputation as a barnyard dog.
We can hope.

If this was a Republican, the MSM would have it on every night for 20 minutes, NYT’s would have front page coverage for weeks until the Senator resigned in disgrace....but in this case, no one will be interested in this DemocRAT’s “culture of corruption” case!

“.....where she may have directed billions of dollars to companies controlled by her husband....”
such an allegation cannot be true because senator feinstein is a democrat, and democrats are compassionate, smart, loving, decent, unselfish, filled with affection for mankind, not interested in profit, above the rest of humanity, and without sin.
therefore, there will be no inquiry because any allegations of wrong-doing cannot be true because of the above reasons.

I’m glad to see this in The Hill, glad Melanie Sloan is on Feinstein’s case, but “shenanigans” hardly describes this level of congressional greed and corruption.

Pigs will be flying upside down and backwards before there is even coverage of any Democrat wrongdoing, much less punishment. Their MSM will see to that.

Fineswine is a ‘Rat and so will skate away from this one pretty much unharmed. Being from Ratland (i.e., CA) also helps since the voters there don’t seem to care about anything other than the ‘D’ after the name. Look for the MSM to ignore this or somehow spin it away. In the end, you’ll have editorial writers saying things like “this is old news”, or “they all do it” (remember that one?), even though stuff like this got Randy Cunningham a term in the slammer (but that’s okay, he’s a Republican and as such “deserved” it). If all else fails, the MSM will blame it on Bush and those “mean-spirited Republicans”.
