The bombshell sex probe of a Washington, D.C., madam that already has caught one Bush administration official with his pants down may soon focus on well-known political pundits who have appeared on TV.
"There are several thousand names, tens of thousands of phone numbers, from administration officials to lobbyists to advisers who are well known, people who appear on television," said ABC News' Brian Ross, to whom alleged madam Deborah Jeane Palfrey turned over her little black book.
In an interview with CNN, Ross refused to identify any more of the customers of Palfrey's "escort service" and did not indicate whom he might name in a segment of ABC's "20/20" scheduled to air Friday.
The explosive revelation of the list has had powerbrokers quaking in their boots since Palfrey was pinched by the feds last month. --Snip--
Ross said Palfrey "sees it as hypocritical that the government is going after her and the women who worked for her and not the men who paid them.
"The phone lists were in her home when the federal agents raided it," he said. "But they were not interested in the names of the men, only the women . . . She thinks that it is hypocritical.

Palfrey, also known as "Miz Julia," has denied charges that the girls she employed at the Pamela Martin & Associates escort service are hookers.
She's accused of hiring more than 130 women over the years, charging clients $200 to $300 a session and generating more than $2 million. The women are said to include university professors, legal secretaries and military officers.

Exactly. This list will be so redacted that the only names that come out will be aligned with the GOP/Conservatives. The only chance we'll get to see the entire list is if someone leaks it.

So far actually two names have been leaked and both so far are conservatives. So my guess is that ALL names released in the near term will be conservatives in an effort to do as much damage as possible to the republican party then when the public gets tired they will dribble out the rest.

How can anyone be sure that these names in her ‘Black Book’ were not just there as potential clients, and not men who have actually USED her services. If that’s the case, she’s going to ruin a lot of reputations by creating a false impression.

South of the border drug smugglers routinely wrapped their loads with the name of the current US president (whether that be Bush or Clinton) so that any photos of the haul would “taint” the sitting administration.

Remote starters wouldn't necessarily prevent a bomb in her vehicle. Only partial circuits are activated with a remote starter (I know because I wired one into my Silverado), and you still have to insert the key and turn to the run position before you can drive away.
The people with the power to be burned by this list would be able to hire someone savvy enough to work around such a minor inconvenience.

If you are on the list and are named, you still cry foul and everyone still thinks you're guilty.

I'd forgotten that. Yeah, I'd ask how Ross is even still credible, but he did duty above and beyond with that, so maybe that's part of how he gets to be the one to break this 'gem'?
Resource are limited. It makes more sense to go after providers than users. Every whore enables many johns, just as every drug dealer enables many users. Not to many johns buy 10 tricks a day. Nobody ever pinched a dealer to get to his customer, unless there was another reason they wanted the customer. They pinch the dealer to get to his dealer.
