I too support the President and I’m probably as big a BUSHBOT as anyone else, and I thought the clips were funny. And I bet Pres. Bush did, too. He’s a real human being who can laugh at his own mistakes. My personal fave: when he said: “Now the left hand knows what the right hand is doing,” and gestured with the right hand when he said left, and the left hand when he said right. I laughed out loud. They were all pretty light hearted: Barney jumps out of his arms and tries to run away; he tries to get out through a locked door, and laughs when he can’t; he says Iran shouldn’t be influenced by the Iranians (when he means Iraq shouldn’t); etc. Take a deep breath and watch it; I’d bet you’ll be laughing with him and not at him.

I can do that when needed, but I just disagreed with wideawake on some terminology used and I've seen many posts on this forum that wideawake has made that I enjoy.
Tempers around here have definitely been somewhat strained since November.
Generally speaking, I totally agree but in this case I think that most of us can laugh "with" the President on this one. I know I've made at least half the gaffs he did in that video and I've learned to laugh at myself when I do. It only proves the man is human and most people like to know that even though he is the President, he is one of us.
There was a guy who made a record in the 60's by the name of Vaughan Meader. He did JFK impressions that were hysterical and I can remember my father laughing so hard that tears rolled down his face. And my dad, like hundreds of thousands of WWII vets worshiped JFK. Oh, and Kennedy thought the album was fantastic and laughed at himself all the time.

I see your point. I just don’t believe that the post - with its accompanying mealymouthed little snark about “Bushbbots” - was intended in the same lighthearted and innocent manner as your dad’s chuckling at the Meader routine.
But I am a bushbot. Eventhough I wish he’d do more on the border issue...I still consider myself a bushbot.
