...if Harry Reid’s right and we’ve lost the war, who won?
Special Report with Brit Hume ^ | April 25, 2007

From last night’s Special Report with Brit Hume:

On Harry Reid and Iraq

MORT KONDRACKE: But, you know, you have a dynamic going where everybody is ratcheting up their rhetoric and ratcheting up their position or making it more [confrontational], and I wonder whether there’s going to be a deal reached here. If there’s not a deal reached, the troops don’t get their money. If troops don’t get their money then they begin hurting as of a certain point. And I got to say, you know, if al Qaeda is watching American television, watching what’s going on in the United States, they must be just delighted. . . .

FRED BARNES: You know, I was asked a question today by Senator Lindsey Graham. I happened to be talking to him, the Republican from South Carolina, he said look, if Harry Reid’s right and we’ve lost the war, who won? Who won the war?

I think that’s the question that Harry Reid needs to answer. If we’ve lost, who won? And I think the only answer is, if indeed we do lose in Iraq, the answer is there’ll be two big winners, there’ll be al Qaeda, which will have that whole area, that whole Sunni area, which will be an enclave for them, a safe haven, a place to train troops and launch attacks elsewhere in the world.

And the other big winner will be who all the Shia go to in the other part of Iraq, who will they look for an ally if the U.S. is gone? It’s pretty obvious. There’s one big Shiite country in that region and that’s Iran. And they’ll be a big winner.

Winning matters.

The Democrats don't seem to think it does. They think the next election cycle mattters, and they think pulling the troops out could have advantages for their party. Such short-sighted b*st*rds.

Just like Viet Nam when the country was handed over to the North Vietnamese. The only difference is that this time the winners will not be content to stay in their region and will be emboldened to strike the US directly.

Repugnant Pelosi won because she returned from the Middle East unharmed. God won’t have her and the devil doesn’t want her. Bad for us though.

This was a question that was not supposed to be asked.

Because there is no way to rehearse an intelligent and articulate response.

“Bu-dah-bu-dah-bu-dah” is not an answer.

it’s alarming that a sitting us republican senator from south carolina is actually pondering reid’s defeatist words about losing. where are the men? where are the people with balls? im so disgusted. this entire thing about “losing” has been nothing but leftist/socialist propaganda that has snowballed into mainstream thought by idiots who know nothing about the situation over there.

We haven't lost, and Al-Quida and Iran know it. In fact, they know that the only way they can come out as a winner is for the United States to defeat itself and walk away in a bewildered haze.

That's what they hope for...and it is exactly what Pelosi and Ried are intent on giving them...the seditious power mongers whose own lust for political power leads them to betray our troops and their mission of defending America and liberating the oppressed in Iraq, where the vast majority want us to stay and are much better off now with a prospect of freedom, and are fighting for it and dieing by the thousands themselves.

If America looses the Democrat Party wins. It’s as simple and as significant as that.

Some day soon if, God forbid, we are living in a US where suicide bombings on buses, malls, and pizza joints are a weekly occurrence I just hope Joe Public remembers who wanted to raise the white flag in the Middle East, pack up the tents, and hand over the field of battle to the terrorists. If they are allowed to claim victory in their territory, our territory will be the next front.

Since when do dems care about logic and reality?

Emotional manipulations and propagandist lies define them.

Winning matters.

Damn straight. After pissing $1 trillion and 30K casualties down this rat hole, we better "win".

...if Harry Reid’s right and we’ve lost the war, who won?

Why, no one, of course!

How can we talk about 'winners' when Bush's illegal war has wasted so many innocent lives in Iraq for no reason other than searching for WMD's that never existed and giving Bush's Halliburton buddies lucrative contracts?

That's what the dims will say, and America's soccer moms and Oprah lemmings will nod their heads in unison, unable to think on their own but grateful that the dims are willing to do it for them.

Treason-
Violation of allegiance toward one’s country or sovereign, especially the betrayal of one’s country by waging war against it or by consciously and purposely acting to aid its enemies.

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of morals and patriotic feelings which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight and nothing that he cares more about than his personal safety is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. - John S. Mills (1806-1873) English philosopher and economist

“Contemplate the mangled bodies of your countrymen, and then say, ‘What should be the reward of such sacrifices?’ Bid us and our posterity bow the knee, supplicate the friendship, and plough, and sow, and reap, to glut the avarice of the men who have let loose on us the dogs of war to riot in our blood and hunt us from the face of the earth? If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!” - Samuel Adams

Strategypage said today that the surge is working, and its creating a US backlash among war opponents.

Rush and most politico insiders feel they are just trying to push the war on to the Republican’s plate, in order to hang them with it in ‘08. The also want to wrap it up before ‘09, when they figure they’ll win.

It’s a twisted strategy for America.

Reid’s comment that they will pick up senate seats because of the war says it all.

These ratbas*ards only care about two things: more party power and re-election...

It started with Truman firing General MacArthur in Korea. If we had kicked the hell out of the Chinese and the nationalists had taken power there would have been no cold war. It would have ended in 1952 and we would have been the winners 4 decades earlier. Russia would have behaved and not spread global trouble and would not have supplied Mideast countries with arms and Iran would not be an islamic trouble maker. Yep, should have let Mac kick some ass back in 1952.

The left wing baby killing sodomite enabling atheistic commie hippie clintonista family destroying drug abusing pornographic hollywierd smut peddling hypocrites that elect the Pelosi Reid Shummer Clinton Kennedy types in league with the devil and the islamic antichrist alqueda barbarian horde that will be the death of our country and set the world on fire unless or until God has had enough and puts a stop to it. At least Pope Benedict has the grace and wisdom to tell it like it is as well as Duncan hunter and President Bush. Men who have the guts to tell it like it is for the truth of it and not for political popularity.

I have not ranted for a while. AAaaahhhhhhhhhhh!!!
