I've just about come to the conclusion that some few people get so infatuated with celebrities that it simply fries every synapse in their brains that ever harbored any common sense. They just slam their minds shut and clench their eyelids and jam their fingers deeply into their ears to avoid seeing, hearing or even thinking about the shallowness of their celebrity god/goddess!!!
They must rush home from work to watch Entertainment Tonight, or Inside Edition or one of the other celebrity worship services on TV.
Then when one of these self-centered, self-annointed celebs shifts over to politics to follow their opportunistic careers of trying to follow the giant Reagan footsteps by hijacking a historic CA Recall effort started by grassroots conservatives... The worshippers still refuse to believe their "star" can do anything stupid. This, even after repeatedly hurting the state with a whole littany of leftist pantloads of crappola to the extreme, while still besmirching the Republican Party to the maximum!!!
It's been breathtaking! It's now getting beyond the tragically disappointing point, all the way to the comical, at this time!!! (especially when they shift to supporting the celebrated liberal Republican former Mayor of NYC)

Have you read "America's 30 Years War, Who's Winning?" by that Hungarian concert pianist? (Baylint Vasonyi) He talks about the Franco/Germanic domination of old European thinking, i.e. Socialism, both National Socialism (NAZI) and Communistic Socialism. I can't help include Austria with Germany. They were just too willing for Hitler to "come on down!"
Have you heard whether the Socialist or the Conservative has won France's Presidency, yet???

About 60% of the light bulbs I have around my home are used for less than 5 minutes at a time. Closets, cellar, seldom-used rooms, attic, garage opener, ...
CFs would be a horribly inefficient way to do that lighting.
Poor lifetime, lousy light during the warm-up period... plus the disposal problems.
I hope somehow people wise up before they allow well-meaning legislators to bully them this way.

Obviously this idiot didn’t read my previous posting.
Compact fluorescents don’t fit in all fixtures, are useless in refrigerators and ovens and don’t come on instantly.
This idiot is a typical “liberal” who wants to control every aspect of life.
About disposing of the compact bulbs: Liberals know about the mercury. They will wait until they have forced us to use them, then they will add a “disposal fee” for each bulb.

“Next week lawmakers turn from micro managing the Iraq war and trying to tell the Iraq government what to do to mandating light bulbs. Whatever would we all do without them? sarc/”
I’m flying to Sacramento this morning.
I’ll have to drive through Rio Linda so I can understand what Rush is talking about, “for those in...”

Unfortunately most legislators are lawyers. Most of them went to law school, because they didn't have the aptitude for medicine, engineering, or science.

I'll have to read "America's 30 Years War". I lived in France for three years and I've been watching the Frenchification of California with shock and awe. It amazes me that Americans go for the socialist rope a dope after watching what a disaster it has been in Europe.

Conservative Nicolas Sarkozy is ahead in the polls but the election isn't until May 5...you have to keep in mind that a French conservative wouldn't be called a conservative in America.
