I met her a few years ago in a restaurant...she was still very glam. Lovely lady.

She was wonderful in A Night at the Opera. She played off the Marx Brothers very well. (It's just too bad that Zeppo had left and they had to use Alan Jones.) If you haven't seen it, get a copy and watch it.

I was confusing Carlisle with Dorothy Kilgallen from the old “What’s My Line?” show. Arlene Francis was also a panelist on that show, but apparently Kitty Carlisle wasn’t.

One thing the NYT obit didn’t mention: after their spouses had both passed away, she dated Thomas E. Dewey for a couple of year before his death in 1971.
