Ahem....she.....
What they’re hoping for is someone to attack them or do something else to them that they can sue in court over. Phelps and his demon-spawn daughter (IIRC) are both lawyers.
But if they show up at these funerals, they may be reminded of the old adage of being careful what you wish for.
We should form our own group to take on these guys!
Actually, they are aware. There was an earlier thread on this......
This group of crackpots might actually be crazier than the TV shooter.
I was thinking the same thing. Of course Phelps group is forbidden to marry outside of their cult so it won’t be long before they are a bunch of inbred morons - even more so than now.
How would you like to see a a bunch of us form a circle around these spawn of satan when they come to protest and show them some tough love? After all Jesus drove the money changers out of the temple with a whip.
Extending Shirley’s “logic” out would lead you to also conclude that hell is now occupied by Job, the Apostle Paul, Jesus, et al.
Would this filthy pig think it’s an act of God when a lunatic opens fire on her and her family? She belongs to a family of demented losers who are the furthest thing from religious people.
I can’t be the first one to pose this, but are they getting cash from undisclosed sources just to portray Christians as maniacs?
Everytime the Phelps pull this kind of sh*t, they should immediately be surrounded by a large group of colorfully dressed people singing Village People songs through bullhorns.
Only if they are dancing around with live chainsaws.
This groups concept of morality is much closer to Cho's than to that of a Christian.
Yes, it inhibits what I say on these threads as well. He is fortunate that the relatives of his victims have had more self control than I would have.
Phelps and his gang of demented perverts are certainly not welcome in the Commonwealth.
Apparently they never read Foxs Book of Martyrs.
Or the New Testament - I guess that means that Christ isn't a true christian either.
Shirley Phelps-Roper, said the Virginia Tech teachers and students who died on Monday brought their fate upon themselves by not being true Christians.
Apparently, being a victim of an atrocity is, by itself, proof of ones unrighteousness.
Therefore, if Fred Phelps were to be assassinated by another nut, that would prove Phelps deserved to die and go to Hell?
Id say Phelps is skating on thin ice with his line of reasoning.
Exactly - I take her words as an ultimatum. Hopefully someone in Cho's mental state will take them up on it.
This group is a heretical Christian cult like the Branch Davidians and the Jonestown crowd. People like this always will bring disaster upon themselves. As they judge they will be judged themselves. Proverbs says “Death and life is in the power of the tongue and those who love it will eat its fruits.” The group they send may all get killed in an accident on the way here to VA or to some other one day to protest funerals and then the survivors have their own words to ponder.
Calm down. There's no reason to believe that this kid wasn't PO'd at Phelps long ago -- he started picketing funerals of homosexuals first, then moved on to soldiers when he wasn't getting enough outrage and media attention, and now his strategy is apparently to picket any funeral where cameras will be.
Curtis Dahn is a 20-something kid with little or no influence outside of his campus. He could have been perfectly livid at Phelps' other protests, but the papers weren't calling him for comment.
Thank you for standing up for the families.
It’s important for the families to know they have unbounded love coming their way.
Or perhaps they don't want to make more of a spectacle than there already is. Or to lend credence to the notion that homosexuality is at all relevant to the Phelpsholes' protests at the funeral of soldiers or students.
I doubt that the families are asking the gay rights groups to be there. It makes more sense, and is better for everyone involved, for groups like the Patriot Guard riders to handle things (I haven't heard whether they're planning to go to Virginia Tech).
Whether you like or dislike gay rights groups, I think it's the right call for them to stay away, whether it's a matter of sensitivity or just a PR calculation.
