you can find even more here

http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/the_secret_battle_over_wmd.html

Has a full interview with Dave and was discussed in detail on ATS, the only problem is no one would or will believe him when it comes to government officials. I am not sure but much of what was on ATS has now been trashed so there might just be a possibility someone found out information he did not reveal so the threads were trashed because the info was suspect.

What I find funny though is it took the blogger so long to find this out when it has been known for over a year.

I thought there weren’t any WMD? Even when there is proof the mad hatter liberals insist on painting our military and President as incompetents.

The Republicans won’t touch this because it would reveal the incompetence of the Bush administration in failing to neutralise the danger of Iraqi WMD.

There may have been these Bunker's, but the reason given Repubs wouldn't reveal this information is total B.S.! It's already been shown the Bush adm is incompetent by not being able to defend itself against total idiots in the DBM/dems arena, what's another issue going to show that hasn't already been revealed?

Show us the bunkers because without that this is just another flighty article that will be completely ignored by everyone.

And the reason you don’t know about this is that the American administration failed to act on his information, ‘lost’ his classified reports and is now doing everything it can to prevent disclosure of the terrible fact that, through its own incompetence, it allowed Saddam’s WMD to end up in the hands of the very terrorist states against whom it is so controversially at war.

Honestly, if there is such proof of WMD, this Administration would gain more by revealing the fact than by hiding it. America deserves to hear about the proof of WMD.

“Saddam’s nuclear research, scientists and equipment, he says, have all been relocated to Syria, where US satellite intelligence confirms that uranium centrifuges are now operating — in a country which is not supposed to have any nuclear programme.”

Why is this the first We’ve heard of this? Does Polosi know?

There is a silver lining to this cloud. Chemical and biological (even to a degree nuclear) degrade over time. Not only that, but the fool who uses them may end up dead in a number of ways. Least mentioned is killing himself if the wind isn't right,...

I don't know whether any of this is credible or not. But this one claim casts doubts on the others, or at least offers some real questions. Regarding bunkers built UNDER the Euphrates River:

They had been constructed through building dams which were removed after the huge subterranean vaults had been excavated so that these were concealed beneath the river bed. The bunker walls were made of reinforced concrete five feet thick.

There is no way construction like this would escape the notice of our satellites, and even sparse ground assets could notice a major river damned up for what would have to be days at a time for such construction.

Is there any evidence of this in the record? If not, it likely did not happen -- no way it was done in secret.

This isn't how they usually do under-river construction. Most of the time they drill from the sides for tunnels. And the one case I know of where the tunnel was done from above, the sections of tunnel were built and sealed and dropped THROUGH the water into channels dug while the water was in place, not by damming the water.

Yawn. The author is correct--I do dismiss the claims. The Administration, and especially the President, has a podium at any time he wants and has used it many times since 2003. He hasn't said anything about ol' Dave and his findings. If this weren't blarney, why hasn't he said anything to justify the invasion and silence critics?

Now, we're supposed to believe a report from melainephillips.com instead? I'd have to be desperate for vindication to accept the claims without more substantiation than that. Have we lost all capacity for critical thought? For introspection?

The Republicans won’t touch this because it would reveal the incompetence of the Bush administration in failing to neutralise the danger of Iraqi WMD . The Democrats won’t touch it because it would show President Bush was right to invade Iraq in the first place. It is an axis of embarrassment.

I attended a small lecture in 2004 given by the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear, Chemical, and Biological Weapons. He said that he had toured a facility in Iraq that was identical to the Pantex facility (the US nuclear weapons fabrication facility outside Amarillo, TX). The only thing they couldn’t find was the uranium/plutonium.

Thanks for link.

[. . .But when it comes to Iraq, the western media behave collectively out of character. There is no openness to any facts that challenge the ‘line’. There is a mindset, so powerful as to amount to a kind of collective brainwashing, that it is been ‘proved’ that there were no WMD in Saddam’s Iraq. Any claim to the contrary, however authoritative or persuasive, is therefore brushed aside.

Even the brief public appearance on an official US website of the Saddam tape transcripts referred to in the memorandum above — in one of which Saddam could be heard talking in 2002-2003 about his ongoing nuclear programme — was referred to only in passing by the New York Times in a report whose incoherence managed to bury this explosive revelation altogether.

The docile US media, dependent as it is on government sources and handouts, is all too easily intimidated or bought off by pressure from a myriad different sources which all have their own conflicting reasons to suppress such politically damaging revelations.

Too many important reputations in the media now rest on the ruthless suppression of the faintest possibility that they might have been wrong.]

Meantime, made me ill seeing O'Reilly talk with 'Whoopi' last week, offering a 'line' all too familiar to him. . .that ok. . ."you were right". . .about WMD's and GB's 'mistake' but now. . .blah/blah. . .

Think Hannity the 'same'. . .and Rush offers he does not care 'who' was right. . .but only how we move forward. And, could be he is well aware of the 'catch 22' that exists for both sides here; or maybe not; but I think it important for 'truth' to be the starting point. . .particularly because of the idiology attached to the synthetic version; and more importantly; many in America need to be reawakened to these 'outcome based strategies'. . .

Think 'out here'. . .we had better start e-mailing with info and expectations. . .

Ask yourself, who benefits if there is no record of WMDs in Iraq? Then you’ll be close to the answer as to how any trace of them disappears.

I have been debating how to post an experience that happened to me recently, and will I do so now in a deliberately vague way because I do not wish this writing to get back to the source. But it did happen and it troubled me deeply.

I met someone who appears frequently as a security expert on a major cable news channel. This person has a long background as a member of the U.S. military. The conversation drifted to the war in Iraq, and this person launched into a long diatribe against the administration. While I do not believe all members of the armed forces share the same political views, the extent of the rather far left talking points this person espoused was remarkable.

The “lecture” included claims that the intelligence community knew the exact location and amounts of all chemical, and biological agents in Iraq before the war, and that GW cherry picked data to buttress the WMD case, that the war was just to take out Saddam for going after “Bush’s daddy”, and that the administration is guilty of violating the first, second, and third Geneva conventions. A litany of violations of the Constitution were enumerated, and parallels drawn to the fall of the Roman Republic. Furthermore he stated that the generals all hate Bush and if this was any other country there would have been a coup.

I am open to the possibility that Bush did gin up an excuse to invade Iraq, if the reason was a greater strategic end. Such a fact would be troubling to me, perhaps I would even consider it worthy of impeachment despite noble intentions, but it would be something wrong done for the a greater good. However, I do not buy the blood for oil line, and when this person started the old “Cheney and Rove are Bush’s brain” chestnut, sirens immediately began going off in my head.

While I am sure of this person’s general background, I am not so convinced that the claims to inside knowledge and direct interaction with many players in the Iraq war planning are as valid. Lots of folks exaggerate their resumes.

In any event, I was deeply troubled by what I heard. Have those of us who have supported this administration been duped by a corrupt regime? Has this person had some sort of life changing experience that has turned him against his former life in arms? Is he simply saying what the media wants to hear in order to get work?

Whatever the truth is, this individual is helping to shape public attitudes toward the War on Terror, in both news outlets and dramatic shows and movies. If there is anyone who has detailed knowledge of the planning and intelligence prior to the invasion of Iraq, or who may feel they might know who such an individual might be and can provide more background, feel free to send a private message. I would like to get to the bottom of this.

My first thought was, twelve years in the OSI, what was his rank? Why don't they mention his military record?

Every award has a name. I separated out with two ribbons. That may sound important to a civilian but if I say that they were the GCM and the NDSM it’s not impressive at all.

If he retired as a Tech Sergeant, that is less credible than a Lt. Colonel. The standardized periodic report of an NCO would be more easily lost or destroyed than a formal mission report of an officer. I would like to know more before I jump up and down with glee over this story.

If true, it is also entirely possible that the intelligence was acted upon as well and simply remains totally top secret.

It is all conjecture.

But I know one thing for sure...

We will hear about things that are going on today only many decades from now when they can be declassified, and we will probably be stunned at the actions this nation has taken against the evil ones and how sucessful they were.
