Women could one day grow their own sperm, says a scientist who today claims to have turned bone marrow into early-stage sperm cells.

His team is now studying how to grow fully fledged sperm from bone marrow as a means to restore fertility in young men who have undergone cancer treatments. It could be five years before trials start.
Prof Karim Nayernia and his colleagues have completed similar experiments with female mice.
Within a few months, they expect to see if the method can be extended so that early-stage sperm can in principle be made from women, too.
Along with cloning, this could mark the second technique that makes men redundant.

Seriously, the unintended consequences of this delusion can only be imagined. And I don't mean nice ones.
Ignoring the evolution of human beings for 100,000 or 6 million years (take your pick) for the convenience or benefit of deviants and perverts will have its own built-in "rewards" surprises.

For a woman to engage in viable spermatogenesis she would have to have a brain transplant and an ovariectomy. The female brain regulates gonadotropins in a cyclical fashion whereas the male brain regulates gonadotropins in a steady-state fashion. Spermatogenesis requires a constant or steady-state stimulation via gonadotropins.
If men aren’t allowed to grow their own eggs, this might violate the 14th Amendment’s equal protection clause. Maybe men will now need an ERA.
This needs to be banned. I saw this coming (no pun) a decade ago. There are certain things that need to be stopped before they are born.
And what do you want to bet they'll try to do just that?
We are SO screwed.
