“There is no technological solution to the problem; it can only be resolved by sufficiently hard attitudes towards the vermin perpetrating these acts.”

Well said. Just back from two military funerals in two days... I understand.

I don't know if anybody understands this at present. Jack Pershing understood it, but that was a hundred years ago.

These suicide bombings are group crimes, not individual crimes, and they have to be treated as such. That's on top of the fact that you cannot hope to win a war or a police action of any sort, and the thing in Iraq is a police action, while allowing an adversary to achieve any sort of a fifty to one kill ratio against you with impunity by using cowardly and dastardly tactics.

My own feeling is that everything we do as a nation which involves dealing with muslim terrorists should involve pigs. The guy running Gitmo should be a hog farmer, and a cell without (other) pigs in it should be a reward for extremely valuable information. Whatever is left of a suicide bomber should be publically buried in a box along with the remains of a pig. The guy's village should be bombed with pig manure, family members should be put in cages with pigs and the bars welded shut, etc. etc.

Oh, I think I have a fair idea. I don’t expect to get individual retribution against the guy who killed my son with that RPG, or even against that group. In fact, I’m not even that concerned about that group of 60 or so who attacked our convoy. But I sure do take issue with the whole mindset and mass who mindlessly want to kill us all without really understanding why. Or even caring. They could kill us all and never learn a thing from the experience, which is a damned shame. One should at least gain some wisdom and learn to respect one’s enemies in a way. Anything else is madness, and that is what I fear. No good can come of that.

Don’t worry, the MSM has their priorities straight — they got out of weeks of non-stop Anna Nicole Smith coverage by railing about Imus — there won’t be any need to notice jihad terrorists slaughtering crowds of helpless people except when it can be used as a club against the Bush WH......

I agree. What was that movie where the computer plays out a world war and comes to the conclusion that it’s a stalemate so it doesn’t launch a missile? This is like watching that movie, except at least one of the sides isn’t realizing the futility of it, and is willing to play it out until there is no one left on either side.

Tit for tat isn’t the way to win something. Commensurate response and all that. I recognize we want the Iraqi people to control their own fate, but when are they going to get sick of this bombing-innocent-people crap and start to do something about it? If that were happening her in America, I know I would be strapped and would take out the first heavy-coat-wearing-in-July-S.O.B. that I saw.

Why haven’t the Iraqi people gotten fed up yet? What am I missing?

I’m just not sure that the Iraqi people (if there is such a thing, the country is so divided on tribal lines) is really going to “get it” in our lifetimes.

It seems there is no limit to the amount of death and suffering they are willing to cause and suffer.

We should just get out and leave them to it. Our presence there is is just a footnote in the wider story of sectarian violence.

These Sunnis are just begging to be slaughtered to the last man and the Shiittes are sure to do it once we “get out of Dodge”. (And it would be hard to blame them).

Islamic death cult mania. Saudi bankrolled, brainwashed & crazed, Wahhabist, Sunni serial killers one day, then Iranian trained, armed & infiltrated Mahdi mad Shi’ites the next.

Each fanatical sect self detonating on each other. Too bad the entire lot of them could not be enticed to an totally uninhabited A-bomb atoll each and every one practicing and practicing.

The beat goes on. It goes without saying that one can’t win a war this way.Our enemies KNOW who they are, and if hit, would certainly know WHY. The war, from the beginning should have had a minimum of a dozen serious targets, all involving ONLY the taking out of selective pieces of infrastructure, only possibly ONE in Iraq, and the message would have been sent.If they didn’t get the message, or pretended not to know WHY we did it, we could explain it to them in no uncertain terms. Instead we wage a piecemeal “virtual” war whose purpose is not to win, but to change perceptions. We might as well be doing it on a computer monitor. Instead we coddle “allies” like Saudi Arabia, who are far worse than some we’ve waged this hopeless “war” on. We never decided that we were really at war, and that is precisely what this “conflict” has in common with Vietnam. If we’d had corporate types like this in charge in 1941, we’d all be speaking German. We should have hurt them enough to bring them to the table. If they still continued their ways against the West, and Israel, hurt them twice, and keep hurting them until they come around. And if they never come around, well, then they have made the choice not to join planet earth at its now constituted , and their fate would be of their own choosing. Post 9-11, this whole thing should have had as its kick-off strategy, the deportation of every
suspicious Muslim Jihadist-in-waiting. Europe will eventually have to do it, and I suggest its not too late for us. We’ll all be better off, and CAIR can be shown the door and pack its bags, and CAIR is indeed symbolic of our paralysis at home and abroad:we have allowed our country to be FILLED WITH TROUBLEMAKERS WHO ARE ONLY HERE TO UNDERMINE US, and they capitalize on our every failure, false start, and wrong turn.

Well, it has to do with oil, and their catbird-seat position as regards the flow and supply of it, and that of course relates to the PRICE of it. As far as I’m concerned the sand cultures would be quickly going the way of the dinosaur if they didn’t happen to be sitting directly on top of what it is a precious global resource. But oil has now become a very useful tool of nascent power axes across the world-—there are new alliances trying to form, and trying to figure out how to blend and unite their ideologies. Look no further than Iran and Venezuela, but there are many others eager to join.

I agree. The bottom line is that many of the Iraqi people are total savages, bloodthirsty as hell and are willing to commit any crime imaginable. The rest of them, with a few exceptions, are just hanging on. Their tolerance for mass death, murder, beatings, assissinations, and every other abomination is due to their belief that its all for Islam. Remove Islam from the equation and nearly all of this mayhem would stop. Islam is what allows them to tolerate so much... in fact, Islam encourages this sort of dysfuntional, unltraviolent lifestyle.

I don’t think we should get out until we kill a lot more terrorists. But when we eventually do leave I am totally confident that the Iraqi’s will blow this opportunity and prefer to live under a severe dictatorship. They almost can’t function any other way.

Huge victory for the Democrats.

EXACTLY! It would be no surprise to learn that their little tea parties with the terrorists were planning sessions for attacks such as these.

MSNBC, ABC,NBC,CBS, CNN, BBC and the likes are enabling these Muslim Terrorist bastards by their own cowardice

Why would the enemedia condemn the terrorists when their masters, the demonrats, won't condemn them and feel we need to "dialog" with them?

Terrorist cowards killing civilians for another fresh delivery of grisly headlines. Subhumans.

Oh no, you got it all wrong. It's a civil war! Don't you watch CNN? Obviously a civil war. Must be. Terrorists. Civilians. That's two sides, right?
