Jesse Jackson Says Organization Will Pay Alleged Rape Victim's Tuition

DURHAM, N.C. — The Rev. Jesse Jackson said Saturday that his Rainbow/Push Coalition will pay the college tuition for a black stripper who has made rape allegations against white members of Duke University's men's lacrosse team.
And the offer stands even if it turns out she fabricated her story.
Jackson told The Associated Press Saturday that his organization is committed to making sure the 27-year-old divorced mother of two will never again "have to stoop that low to survive."
Jackson has not spoken with the woman, who is a student at North Carolina Central University, a historically black university.
DNA tests on all 46 of the lacrosse team's white members failed to match any evidence taken from their accuser. But Jackson said there's plenty of circumstantial evidence that something happened to her at the March 13 party.
Attorney Bill Thomas said a member of the defense team interviewed the other dancer who performed that night and she "has stated point blank she does not believe this allegation."
Durham County District Attorney Mike Nifong is expected to bring the investigation before a grand jury, starting on Monday.

Durham Mayor Bill Bell is black. So are Police Chief Steven W. Chalmers, City Manager Patrick Baker and a majority of the City Council. Durham's population is almost as black as it is white.
So why is it that some blacks like Preston Bizzell, a 61-year-old Air Force veteran who said he's never experienced racism in his 30 years in Durham, believe justice here is swifter and harsher for a black man than a white one?

This pharisee of a "Reverend" is a putrid, rotten stain upon the fabric of American life, and a living display of all that is contemptable and evil in this world. He sows only hatred and discord, and lends sympathy to the filth of society's underbelly whose own wretchedness is surpassed only by Jackson himself.
Jackson's antics merit only scorn and repudiation from conservatives. Any individual who so much as acknowledges him with an air of legitimacy or respect beyond that which would be afforded to a rotting sack of garbage strewn across the gutters of the crime-ridden cesspool from which he comes is similarly deserving to share in that scorn and repudiation. Les Moonves, Sumner Redstone, and even the cretins at Fox who give this guy undeserved legitimacy by putting him on the air share in his guilt because they are his enablers.
That Jackson is vile cannot be denied. But neither can the knowledge that the vile in this world will inevitably encounter the justice of the next.
