Why is it when the law is shooting at perps they almost always hit something else or nothing at all?

From a photo caption at the link
an FBI agent was killed Thursday in a shootout with suspected bank robbers
From the story at the link
Pedro Ruiz, an agent in charge of the Newark office, said the suspects did not fire their weapons,
Sounds like the Federal Bureau of Incineration had a shootout with themselves.

The robbers will still be charged with murder, the death happened during the commission of a crime.
Sorry the agent got killed.

facing three perps, two with assault rifles, and one with a handgun, all in the middle of an armed Bank Robbery. Rough sit no doubt.

I don’t think you are right about that actually. Felony murder doesn’t apply in every situation in which someone gets hurt. But I am interested to see what other charges stem from it. Interesting issue but I think you have to do more than be the target of arrest when some bonehead shoots his partner.

They seem very quick to fire their weapons. In Maryland, they shot some poor baseturd in the face who was the wrong guy, totally non-criminal.

If this is a felony murder jurisdiction, and if the suspects were in the process of committing a felony, then this is a straight-up felony murder. If the suspects were merely walking down the street, then probably not.

Well I’ll be interested to see if you are right. I guess probably you are, but that just sounds crazy and disconnected. And a great way to off your partner if you don’t like the guy. I know intent is not required but some connection to their physical actions would make more sense.
