What I will remember is that we had a president of enormous courage and integrity, who led this nation through some of its most perilous times with honor and dignity.
In a generation things will look different than they do now...perhaps in as short a time as ten years after he leaves office. In fact, I remember how Reagan, who was loathed by a press which suddenly found greatness in him at his funeral, or how the first President Bush suddenly was viewed with great affection and respect after a few years of Clinton.
The democrats and the media set out to destroy President Bush's reputation right after the successful invasion of Afghanistan. I doubt that ANY media strategy would have been successful.
One thing we don't know is how many times the media has told them they WON'T cover a speech in prime time, how many times they have hidden good news and magnified bad, how many times they have implemented a strategy to turn his own base against him through false stories "leaked" by anonymous "insiders."
Mark my words, there will come a day when many of the complainers here on FR will wish that they had someone half as good as George Bush in the WHite House.
Allons dancé ?? Laissez les bon temps roulet! ;0)
WOW! Now that's the President I voted for.
I still think Bush has an Ace up his sleeve! I've been disappointed too but he has bounced back when it counted.
The US can lead...as always. ;-)
In the Middle East they are at least protecting the vast majority of the Free Worlds Daily Oil Supply.
You are absolutely correct. My husband and I agree that when he sits on a stool in front of a crowd and speaks to the people he gets his point across. However, I am afraid it is ALMOST too late anymore. Whatever he is going to do he is going to have to do it and do it soon. He cannot continue to try and "change the tone in Washington." It cannot be done because people there dont' want it done." He needs to do what he does best for our country and that is to go out there and meet with the people. Tell the people exactly what the dem/libs are doing and why he is doing what he is doing. We're not stupid. He had better do something because I'm sick and tired of the lib/dems running all over the administration and the RINOs rolling over.
Stand up American and let your feelings be known. I wish the average citizen could get their comments out there like the losers of the sean penn crowd can. There should be a rebuttal from an ordinary citizen, mother, father, brother, sister, cousin whomever each time one of these worthless losers opens their mouths. We have as much right and know as much that our voices should be heard as well.
Imagine Meridith calling Obama a Rock Star. How stupid and silly is that? Give me a break Meridith. We don't vote for ROCK STARS for President. What a hollow thing to say. No wonder the country is headed downward. It's been going that direction for a lot of years and no one is doing anything about it. Our soldiers are dying and innocent people are b eing killed in terrorists attacks and we all still are too politically correct to stand up and speak our voices.
I'm sad and concerned for our country. One day we are gonna wake up and guess what? We'll be overrun and wonder what in the hell happened. I pray that is not the case but I am sure more than concerned at this point. I wish Joe Lieberman would do the right thing for our country and cross the aisle. He is an honest man and a man of character and I would trust him to vote his conscience and not always the party. Sad days for America foks..Very sad!
Waay Koool !! Ain't seen that one...;0)
Truth is we have already won major victory. Through American technology and the Internet, we have defeated the MSM/Dem dominated press with this veto. If this had been the Vietnam era the President would have had no other choice than to accept defeat.
We are winning! Never forget that.
I think GOD put US where we are at this point in history.
By His Will. Not kuzz we iz so smart."HE" wants a HAMMER...
;0)(to beat moozzi's ass with)
HUUURRRRAAAAGGGGHHHHHHH !!!...;0)
I believe we are on a comeback. The greatest generation lives on and we will heal, we just have to drag the rest of the world with us along the way.
No, he doesn't have to "do" what they want.
Not this American.
The White House understands that it can take its case to the American people regarding the Iraq supplemental and win.
RATS cannot win a game of brinksmanship on this, because the blood of American soldiers will be on their hands -- we have them on the record with the "slow bleed" quotes, and worse.
Regardless of how unhappy the American people are about the war, no one will credibily believe the RATS assertion that lack of funding for the troops is Bush's fault. He has paid a horrible political price for standing tough in Iraq; the American people understand this.
One prime time speech and a full-court press after a public veto of this horrendous bill and the RATS will quickly succumb. And they are going to infuriate their base in the process.
I believe that as well. The greatest generation lives on in us.
