We cannot afford to invade anyone right now. We don't have the money to rebuild them.
Suggestion: we invade to kill and conquer, instead of to build and reform. I hear it's much cheaper, not to mention safer. It also may provide a nice deterrent.

Why rebuild Syria and Iran? We do some quick and highly damaging raids - both air and land - then leave after a month. Let whoever is there rebuild. If we don't like the results, repeat again in 5 or 6 months.
The only rebuilding we should be interested in is Iraq. We need to make them the jewel of the middle east.
