I'm not a traveler, more of a homebody. But Taos is one place I would love to go on vacation...
With plenty of $$$ in my wallet and plenty of room in the back of my van to bring home new looms/spinning wheels/hand woven rugs and other art work.

Rummy was a 'military' man, and in his area of responsibility was extraordinarily successful.
Now the game has changed. Instead of facing an army, we are now facing anarchist gangs. New mission, new expertise needs to be developed, and hopefully Petreaus has the answers.

Yes, there are a quite a few moonbats in Taos but they're outnumbered by far more "conservative" democrats (and some stealth Republicans). The moonbats just tend to shriek louder and throw more colorful hissy fits.
I ran into Conant at the "peace protest" on the 17th. He told his story to a whopping audience of about 100 people (half of them curious tourists) and then strutted around the plaza for an hour or so. I went up to him, looked down (the guy is about 5ft) and told him he had quite the active imagination. He frowned at me and looked at his feet. He never said a word.
The moonbats here love to hate Sec Rumsfeld but even his occasional presence here isn't enough to stir up support for their cause. Several years ago they managed to gather several hundred people to march to his farm and "arrest" him. Of course, he wasn't in town, nor has he ever been in residence when they protest outside his empty houses. The "mob" crossed over his fence and started throwing kids clothes around. One guy tried to rip down his American flag but was flattened by a 6ft6in State Police officer. Every year since then the protests have gotten smaller. This year's was a complete joke. Conant, a washed up poet, some chick with a half shaved head and green hair singing some song no one was interested in and the resident code pinkos with their crappy puppets took the stage to whine about depleted Uranium. It was a total bust and even the local rag didn't have much to say about it. Local interest in the bash Rumsfeld movement is very low. Most of the people who are offended by his presence are not natives and haven't been in the county as long as Sec Rumsfeld. Their presence here doesn't contribute a hell of a lot in the way of revenue. They're getting very close to pushing the rest of us too far.
That figures.
