Nice to see the TWirP Brigade showed up

How Progressive of them to join a bunch of folks considered "irrelevant" on the thread. I prefer to think of "true conservatives" here as "irreverent" and not easily overcome by the manure odour that hangs around here.

Many voted for a Straight man and got a comedian instead and a bad one at that.

A doubling of the long term debt, and a state budget ready to shoot by 150 billion a year.. F'n TWirPs.

And in other news, Ahnold remains a lousy actor and a worse politician.

I liked AS back when he was smoking pot with Tommy Chong and chasing Brazilian girls. Now he's just a pompous a-s in Sacramento.

Thanks for the ping. The Austrian's political, governing philosophy is already well known by many.

Rush is wrong however on one small point. The Austrian was never a conservative.

Schwarzenegger was, early on, a self described conservative but his actions. even before 2003, were chiefly liberal. On those few occasions, since late 2003, when Governor Schwarzenegger actually implemented conservative principle, there was always compelling, documented evidence to suggest expediency or political survival.

how in the hell did a brain dead Austrian get elected Governor of what was once the Golden State...

That is the one thing I will say that Arnold has done better than any politician in all of history! He launched the largest, most effective propaganda and marketing campaign of all time! He worked to control every media source, not only in the state, but worldwide. He controlled every public appearance, even maneuvering so he got debate questions up front. The Hollywood-type image-makers worked for years to create the illusion of a great leader (even putting in presidential references of Arnold in various films) and the cult of celebrity used the momentum to literally overwhelm all other discussion. The media went on vacation and became mesmerized by the events, instead of reporting them. Pretty scary, really.

Saw this interview, and that is not the proper context.....

the context was that limbaugh was irrelevant to his governorship.

THe servant comment was also taken out of context -

the proper context was that Schwarzenegger was a servant of the citizens of california, not rush limbaugh, who was mentioned by the interviewer, not arnold.

I'm no Arnold fan, but folks are too gullible when it comes to quotes from the media.....

Red Arnold is a Democrat in all but name. He is a liberal despite the party label. I could give at a rats' rear end regarding his opinion of Rush Limbaugh. He's pretty much a non-factor as far as California conservatives are concerned.

Arnold makes Gray Davis look conservative.

Arnold has acheived what was previously thought impossible.

He made California Republicans think back fondly on Gray Davis....

No. In your original post, you asked why Ahhnold is talking about Rush all the time if he's irrelevant. My point was that Ahhnold isn't the one bringing Rush up - the media are. It isn't as if Ahhnold can't wait to get interviewed on the Sunday morning news shows so he can take his weekly shot at Limbaugh.

Let's face it - it happens to every Republican who appears to be fleeing from the Republican plantation. Chuck Hagel, Guliani, whoever. When they stray from the flock, inevitably, the media will ask them to respond to criticism from the chief spokesman for Republicans.

Something tells me that with everything Ahhnold has to deal with in the state of California, going out of his way to blast away at Rush isn't at the top of his to-do list.

Even Rush couldn't be that delusional.
