And this clown will still be given all the sacraments of other catholics.
Where is the POPE? Where are true Catholic principles?

Ritter ran as a pro-life candidate in last fall's election.Maybe what he really meant is that if he were to become pregnant; then he, personally, would not consider aborting the child.

Allowing the morning after pill doesn't make someone a CINO.I at least makes you a bona fide ignoramus.
- The "morning after" pill has the power to destroy an fertilized egg; it has the power to kill a human being.>
- Allowing its use is a de facto assertion that such an eventuality is entirely acceptable.
- The stance of The Church -- that life begins at conception and is to be protected in the greatest degree humanly possible -- is at irreconcilable odds with such an assertion.
- In this, The Church is in lock-step alignment with the whole counsel of God on the matter basis His views on the value of human life as revealed through Scripture.
- No man claiming he is a legitimate Catholic can conscionably differ from truth on such a core issue as this, unless he is simply uninformed; ignorant of the truth.
- Being informed as to the truth, the ignorant man is thus no longer, and must now bring his view into alignment with God, and The Church, or accept that he is in rebellion against God, has broken fellowship with The Church, and cannot, in that position, truthfully refer to himself as "Catholic".
- The Governor of Colorado is just such a man as this. He knows the truth but refuses to abide by it. He is in rebellion against the expressed truth of God, and has broken fellowship with Him, and, by extension, with the whole of the Body of Christ.
Where does it go from here? That depends upon the strength of character of the local Church authorities. They must, at least, go to the governor privately, point out his error to him in plain terms and see whether he will repent. If he refuses, they should rebuke him and put him under Church discipline; withholding the sacraments from him until such time as he repents. If he remains steadfast in his rebellion, he may, ultimately, become a candidate for excommunication, though that would require very strong and principled leadership from The Church.

Allowing the morning after pill doesn't make someone a CINO. Correct. The woman receiving the pill may not be pregnant. There is no way to tell.

I was using Irony--poorly, apparently. I know he calls himself Catholic.
I was commenting on LtdGovt's remark that allowing an abortificant pill doesn't make one a CINO. Absolutely it does. You can't BE a Catholic and work against the Church's teachings... no matter what you CALL yourself.

This is easy. Just close the Catholic hospitals, let the government pay for it, and put the money saved into better and more Catholic schools.

You can't BE a Catholic and work against the Church's teachings... no matter what you CALL yourself.Since "the Church's teachings" are in lock-step alignment with the whole counsel and authority of God, as given in the Holy Scriptures, why let your appeal to authority rest upon the Church, and not upon God, Himself? The Church derives it's teaching from the expressed Word of God, so any appeal to the authority of teachings so derived legitimately rests the God Who gave the Word from which they are derived. ALWAYS, in discussion or debate, take as the authority for your case, that authority which is the ultimate source of the truth-claim you are making; God, in this instance. Let the weight of the argument rest upon the authority of the counsel He has given, and force your opponent into the position of having to challenge The Almighty, Himself.

Won't happen.
Pray.
The Catholic Church of 2007 years will not cave to Hannitization.
We are growing by leaps and bounds with young folk and media outlets.
Ava Maria University and such like higher learning institutes.
Starbucks is soooo yesterday now we like hot coco from Dutch Bros.
IOW Catholic Life is really hip with the young adults.
The Girls gone wild crowd types influence is so yesterday.
I have hope. Going out fishing or hiking and being in solitude with the Lord will be hip and the game boyz and cable willl be on vacation.

Eloquently stated. However, in this instance it was a denominational question I was dealing with.

Yes, it's all very subtle. Or schizophrenic. I'm pro-life but I won't behave that way in my public capacity.

Close the hospitals. Tell the governor that there is no choice but to close all the Catholic hospitals in the state.

There's a big difference between allowing and "mandating", as others have pointed out.
