In other news, Englands liberals have eliminated from schools "the Three Little Pigs," and replace it with "The Three Little Puppies," because talking or singing about pigs may offend muslims.
Even muslims have come forward and said this is crazy, and that while the koran forbids touching a pig or eating pork, the koran says nothing about talking about or even singing about pigs and is not a problem.

Plenty of it, I assure you. You're unlikely to hear it, however, for two reasons: it's bad news rather than good news, by and large, which sells newspapers; and (if this site is your main source of UK news) the good news stories are not, in the main, those which Freepers choose to pick up on and post. Yes, there's plenty wrong with my country (as, I dare say, there could be with yours): but there's also plenty to be heartened by and take delight in.

I was in minor scuffles daily...serious fistfights about once a month...from age 8 to about age 14. Weapons were not acceptable back then though. They were a sign of weakness or poor social status. No one wanted to actually use a weapon in a real fight because of the social repercussions. "Fair fight" and all that...if you violated the code, you were doomed. Bragging about weapons was a different matter though.
I was wondering the same. But I’m pretty sure it means brown and/or black in american english. In otherwords, I think they were pakistani.
I’m pretty sure it is only arab muslims that shun dog ownership. Turks, southern USSR, and other non arab muslims are very commonly dog owners. In the middle east, sight hounds used for wolf hunting were very common in ancient times. This was a pastime practiced by muslims as well as christians. These sighthounds were similar to greyhounds. Salukis and afghan hounds are good approximations.
