A fiery pro-Israel speech by an evangelical preacher drew multiple standing ovations from thousands of AIPAC delegates. Pastor John Hagee, who last year founded Christians United for Israel, spoke Sunday night at the launch of the American Israel Public Affairs Committees annual policy forum in Washington.
Hagee outlined his vision of a united evangelical-Jewish front lobbying for Israel. He pledged to "stand up for Israel, to financially support Israel until Israel achieves a just, lasting peace. Israel, you are not alone." He finished his speech by leading the crowd in a chorus of "Israel Lives!"

Who coined the term "Religious Right"?
I am a sinner saved by the grace of God.
Calling those who believe Jesus Christ is the son of God and follow the teaching of the Holy Bible "Religious Right" seems to imply fanaticism. IMHO
I'm not taking issue with you for using the term......Just wondering how the tern got started and by whom.

The term "Religious Right" refers to the conservative voting block of Christian Evangelicals. They tend to vote pro-life, anti homosexual marriages, etc. I would guess that the drive by media coined the term. It is not fanaticism, just an organized political arm of the conservatives. Think of it as the "Moral Majority" and "Christian Coalition" combined with other faith based political organizations such as the Family Research Center, etc.

Hagee left his last church (Trinity) in San Antonio (before Cornerstone) refusing church discipline. He abandoned his wife and two kids from his first marriage for a 23 year old member of his last church (Hagee was 35 at the time). He admitted in a letter to his congregation that he committed immorality. It's public knowledge. The man has no credibility when it comes to preaching about family, marriage, commitment, etc.
The Other Gospel of John Hagee,
http://www.pfo.org/jonhagee.htm
That there are moral and ethical concerns with Hagee and a serious question as to his being biblically qualified as a pastor and teacher are not the main issues of this article. However, one very important factor should be noted. The Liberty Flame reported in May 1994 that during the time when Hagee was serving the Charismatic congregation at Trinity Church (1976) in San Antonio, he divorced his wife, resigned and married a young woman in the congregation, Diana Castro. Custody of Hagees two children by his ex-wife, Martha, went to her.
In a letter to the church, Hagee admitted immorality, which later became part of the court records in the custody battle. Martha later also remarried and started another family. Not surprisingly, there is a hiatus from 1976 to 1987 left out of Hagees web site biography.
Neither does he have any credibility when it comes to preaching about gluttony, but I've sure seen him do it, and that judgmentally.
He also teaches that Jews don't need Jesus as their Saviour (someone tell that to the poor misguided apostles) and that those who teach replacement theology (which I don't agree with) are carrying "Hitler's anointing".
He's a false teacher.
Of course, he teaches the "God wants you to be rich by sowing a seed in my ministry" Prosperity scam.
Then there's this:
Financial Controversy,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Hagee
In 2003, the San Antonio Express-News reported that, in 2001 alone, John Hagee had received over 1.25 million dollars in total compensation for his position as CEO at his non-profit corporation, Global Evangelism Television (GETV). This made him one of the highest-paid televangelists in 2001 [8].
According to the Form 990 that GETV filed for tax year 2003, Hagee received almost a million dollars in compensation for his work for GETV that year, which amounted to approximately 16 hours per week [9]. (The GETV Board of Directors, which determines his pay, consisted of John Hagee himself, his wife, his son, and a Cornerstone Church member.) However, because he claimed that he worked "80 hours a week" writing books, singing songs, meeting international dignitaries and answering the call to preach the word of God, John Hagee argued: "I deserve every dime I'm getting". Other observers, including many evangelical Christians, criticize Hagee's handling of finances [10]. Considering his combined pay from both donor-supported ministries (his separate church and TV ministries), his pay has been over 1 million per year.

He also teaches that Jews don't need Jesus as their Saviour Falwell and others have said they agree with this "Dual Covenant", which maintains that the Jewish people has a special relationship to God through the revelation at Sinai and therefore does not need "to go through Christ or the Cross" to get to heaven.
(someone tell that to the poor misguided apostles)
Remember that Peter insisted that heathens must first become Jews before they could accept Christ. He lost out to Paul (and James) on that in the end, of course.
All very interesting.
To: streetpreacher
Why don't YOU try telling the truth.
Your problem with Hagee is not about the "truth," or "adultery," etc.
You said: "He admitted in a letter to his congregation that he committed immorality."
"Admitted" means he told the truth.
No, your problem with him lies in your first link "The Other Gospel of John Hagee," and in your post #35, ie: his position on Jews and salvation.
If this thread is not to your liking, go away. You are the reason that many Jews and their organizations have shunned Christian support. You are the reason that many Jews vote Democratic. Jews are not looking for your preaching, street or otherwise.

You seem to harbor a lot of hatred toward Dr. Hagee. Unless you are perfect, I would suggest you be careful about who you attack. If your claims are true, and I have some serious doubts, how do you know Hagee hasn't repented and sought forgiveness? Or is he required to come to you for that? As far as his doctorate, a lot of ministers now have doctorates, as a result of ongoing education. I know one who has a doctorate and didn't even graduate from high school. So what?
You are no better than he is.

Has Hagee publicly repented? Did he submit to the church discipline process? No, instead he married the girl he was adulterating with. That's repentance? The man is not qualified to pastor any one.
Are you saying that a Christian should not be troubled by one who claims to be Christ's messenger and then blatantly misrepresents and distorts His teachings? Are you a Christian?
As far as running away from your love fest, I don't think so. I will continue to shine the light on frauds such as Hagee much to your chagrin.

Financial Controversy, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_HageeYou conveniently left out the 3rd paragraph from Wikipedia:
Hagee said he was certain his finances complied with requirements of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) because he hired tax lawyers and accountants to make sure that his books complied with tax laws. Hagee said, 'We want a set of books so that when the IRS comes in here and looks they'll say, those people are clean'", Hagee said. "And I am waiting for the day that the IRS is going to come look at our books. I have spent a chunk of money waiting for them"
People on FR who selectively quote are generally not trustworthy.
