What is odd, as reported on Nancy Grace yesterday, Nancy must finally have finished up with Anna Nicole.
To: Palladin
Aside from his personal life, he's a terrible actor. I once stopped and asked myself why I considered him so despicable. I decided I shouldn't sweat the details. He just is.

Nancy must finally have finished up with Anna Nicole You mean to tell me that she's done with Michael Jackson being convicted on all counts?

Shipman is not assigned to NASA -- she's a USAF captain assigned to Patrick AFB. She wrote some steamy emails to her boyfriend. Big deal.
Nowak may not be able to retire until after the civilian criminal charges are settled. She's also subject to UCMJ jurisdiction. Even if the military does not charge her under the UCMJ, she can only retire at the grade in which she last served honorably. No way she should be able to retire as a captain.
Dash Riprock is a smarmy guy. I hope Shipman figures him out and sends him on his way.

I liked him in Hotel Rwanda. He really played a burned out drunken Canadian General quite well. The role seemed to be made for him.

I also thought he was amazing in that. And I haven't liked him much since 48 hours, or maybe even Rich Man, Poor Man.

The character of the General was actually a composite of four different Generals. Read "Shake Hands With the Devil" by Romeo Dellaire. He was one of them. It doesn't cover many of the events at the Hotel de Mille Collines but it covers a lot of other things the movie didn't get in to.

CDR Bill Oefelein either has a new callsign of "Next!" or else it is unprintable in an upstanding forum such as Free Republic.

Nowak, a captain in the Navy, instead will return to the military......just in time for her retirement party! Dunno, Have they selected the skipper of the George H W Bush yet?

If Hillary was President (and may this be the last time that phrase is uttered,) yeah, I can see Nowak on the fast track to Admiral.

It's actually not really her.
You see, the shuttle went up and then got caught in this ion storm that sent them to a mirror universe. It was the mirror-Nowak that came back and went after the other woman.

... and will be due all appropriate military respect, no doubt. Until she's convicted of something, you darned well better believe it. The woman is a Captain, equivalent to a full Colonel in the other services. She has not been convicted of anything, and has no military charges pending against her, so she won't be in the brig or anything like that. If you happen to be in the military, and see her in uniform, you'd better salute.
After a conviction in a civilian court, things change.

Is NASA as strict about adultery as the military can be? No, but all the principals in the case, save *his* wife and her husband are in the military, which will take care of business, if slowly.

I recall some long road trips (1950's) in the crowded family station wagon when the diaper alarm would halt our journey until mom got the baby squared away.
Dad stayed very busy with the map during those periods.

This from cnn.com:
"A Navy public affairs officer in Washington said Nowak has been assigned to the staff of the chief of naval air training in Corpus Christi, Texas.
She is on leave, scheduled to report March 21."
To: Abigail Adams
So she's rewarded instead of punished.
I will never understand the top brass in the military.
Why couldn't Lyndie England catch a nice break like that for her misbehavior?

Check out this story if you missed it:
Love notes shed light on astronaut assault case
During a visit to Oefelein's apartment, Shipman told police she noticed some information about Nowak saved on his computer. He explained that Nowak sometimes used his computer, Shipman said.
"I told him that it made me very uncomfortable and it made me want to pull away from this relationship cause it made me think that he didn't quite cut ties maybe," Shipman said in her statement.
A few days later, Shipman's concern proved prophetic.
"We went to a club in Houston," Shipman recalled in her interview with police. "And then we came home and we had a few drinks, and we were laying in bed and he called me Lisa."
