"no thinks" about sums up anyone who isn't even remotely impressed by the speech. Watch it - it's an impressive, detailed, and exciting piece.

This was such a good speech.

I am glad C-Span had CPAC on all day today, lots of neat panels and speeches.

His speech was insincere and bore no resemblence to his record of the last four years as one of the most liberal Governors in America.

I thought in terms of content that it sounded to me as if it was written by a liberal who was trying to sound like a conservative for a conservative audience.

There is an alternative! /S>

Breaking from NewsMax.com

James Carville: Al Gore Will Run in 2008

Democratic political strategist James Carville says Al Gore will run for president in 2008, but he fell short of offering his endorsement of that possible campaign.

Carville, appearing Tuesday as a guest on MSNBC’s ‘Imus in the Morning’ program, said Gore’s desire to run for political office might come, not from his Oscar win, but rather from something more primitive.

"Running for president is like having sex,” Carville said. "You don’t do it once and forget about it. You want to do it again. He’s run for president in ‘88, he ran for president in 2000. We know he wants to be president and the stars could line up. I suspect he will get into this race.”

The CNN analyst, author and former Clinton administration operative, will likely support Sen. Hillary Clinton in the 2008 race, but Carville said he is not formally on board with her team.

Thanks, RsR, it was indeed a wonderful speech. I recorded the audio portion and I'm listening to it again. The reviews of the speech in the blogosphere are excellent.

The New York Times noted the different reactions of the CPAC crowd to Mitt Romney's address in comparison to Rudy Giuliani.

"Mr. Giuliani arrived to a rousing reception, as people stood up and held cameras and cell-phones to captures a photograph of the moment. But the room grew increasingly silent and restless as Mr. Giuliani’s speech stretched to 40 minutes. By contrast, Mr. Romney arrived to a much more subdued reception but left to a rousing roar of applause."

I like what I heard. I want to hear more detail about what he would do differently to win in Iraq and more on managing immigration.

I saw it and it was Concisely to the point he got his message out the one he been talking about for the last couple of years and it is the one that real conservatives need!

You know exactly what he means!

Romney's path forward in Iraq would definitely include a much tougher stance against Iran. See the video clips about Romney's 5-Point plan to confront Iran in the War on Terror section of his record/positions under my FR profile.

Great speech. And I noticed a few loose hairs. Someone must be getting the message! ;-)

...no resemblence to his record of the last four years as one of the most liberal Governors in America.

South America?

His record as the Governor of Massachusetts is verifiable and not liberal.

Jay Sekulow said he was supporting Romney today. When asked why he said that he had quietly been watching Romney to see how he handled things in Massachusetts and he did all the right things.

Do you think Jay Sekulow is liberal?

I hear that Romney is a flip-flopper. If he keeps it up, I might flip-fop and support him.

Jay Sekulow is a judicial supremacist, so I'm not surprised to see him support someone who believes like he does. You know, the guy who used his executive authority to implement gay marriage in Massachusetts.

Before you berate me about Sekulow's great conservative credentials, allow me to remind you that Benedict Arnold was one of the biggest heroes in America, right up there with Washington, right up until the day he sold his countrymen out.

But to convince me, he'll have to choose Santorum as a running mate, Newt Sec. of State. and Ann Coulter Press Secretary.
