And, don't they stink!
Whatever it takes to get a headline.
Obammy can eliminate poverty by issuing "poverty credits"
Not trying to excuse this article, but I know some folks who work about 3-4 months a year at a "regular" job. They report 10k or whatever to the IRS. What isn't reported is the fact that they often work cash businesses the rest of the time. They also often go back to their home countries during the layoff period where you can live easily on 50 bucks a week. Indians, central and south Americans.
Wait a moment. Clinton solved poverty when he was President.
I know because there were no articles on poor people or the homeless for eight years.
A man gathering pearls never sees that the beach is made of shells.
Great idea, let's get in on the ground floor.
Where the warm cuddles are
The light travels slower
As it shifts down to yellow
Would the Left even begin to consider that the destruction of the family unit - 2 parents - is in many cases the factor that has caused this poverty?
"the number of severely poor Americans grew by 26 percent from 2000 to 2005 "
BUSH !
Reminds me of a UN "study" which found that the U.S. is one of the worst countries in the world for children. Total, absolute, BS.
I remember living in severe poverty when I was 18, having just moved out of my parents' house. My annual income was about 0.
Now I am doing great, and all it took was a full time job for the last 25 years. It was like magic!
If only all these poor Americans could only duplicate my incredible rise out of poverty...
Where the warm cuddles are
The light travels slower
As it shifts down to yellow
the roaring fire and embers glow,
the yellow burns to a golden red.
comfort of being home, together.
Dog on a rooftop
Snake in the glass
Wanting Relief
Rat in a cage
this is sounding more like a zoo,
than home. oh yeah, we live at the zoo.
kids in the choir
statuary hall
doors begin to open
the quiet girl on the stairs
watches the menagerie
passing by like a parade
dark brown eyes
a soul glowing through
it was always you, babe

Actually, the technically correct term is "Rammed Earth." They had homemade slip-forms into which the dirt was poured and rammed. The form was continually moved along the wall. Still, they looked like mud huts to me.
The rich peasants had tiled roofs. Tiles were all homemade in a local "factory" which was a couple of guys hand-forming tiles on the mud bank and fired in a crude kiln.
The local sawmill was a saw pit with two guys, one top and one bottom, running a buck saw up and down.
It was like going back 2,000 or 3,000 years.
