I've been following this story for a while and had a sudden thought (being an Army wife that plans to homeschool her future children) - how does this apply to children on base in Germany? If we as American Citizens are living in Germany as a military family, are we subject to these laws? There's no way they could come on base and drag my children away, is there? Also, does anyone know at what age they start this mandatory schooling in Germany?

I'd be grateful for any information anyone can give on this.

I had always thought that if you were on base, you would fall under US laws.

I could be very wrong.
