And while they are at it, the writers no doubt think they are doing the refugees a favor with such stories, they lump the entire refugee community in with the Trolley Square killer! In effect, if Salt Lake City doesn't help these poor refugees, more of them will resort to killing sprees!
That for me is the most persuasive argument for sending them all back!
Too bad we can't also get rid of the diseased minds that find that sort of argument persuasive...
Want better treatment? Start killing your fellow citizens.

It's a shame my mother didn't do all this terrorist stuff when she was an immigrant....
One little shooting spree and she could have had all these liberals wanting to help her.
Instead, she came with the clothes on her back after years and years of being hunted, shot at, everything she owned left behind, waited under police supervision in another country until her quota number came up, then came here, didn't speak the language, no money, ....
and then years of struggle to assimulate, get an education, her citizenship....little to eat, trying to pay the rent...find a job...
when all she really had to do was go to a shopping mall and shoot a few people.
Who knew?
but being non-violent, she could have come illegally and gotten a college education (thanks to the US taxpayer), MediCal, housing grants, free credit card from Bank America, free ER in a hospital, social workers falling over themselves to help, school taught in her language, food stamps, a fake social security number, employers not caring if she was illegal, people marching through the streets to support her....
Who knew?

Are you kidding? I toured Welfare Square once when I had a long layover to change planes in SLC. Mormons don't give food away to able-bodied people, they expect them to work for it. How heartless is that? < / sarcasm >

My sister in law & her sisters, at about the same age, had to hide under beds & haystacks from the advancing Red Chinese troops, before her family was able to finally make it from central China to Malaysia. They were supporters of Chiang Kai-shek
Her Chinese-American nieces recently graduated from universities. Her uncle is an emeritus professor of medicine at Stanford. She earned her MLS, and recently retired from NASA as a research librarian. Other close relatives are rather well-to-do plantation owners in Malaysia.
All of them are Christian; none of them are violent, let alone murderers.
All who are in this country learned English and became citizens; most of those who remained in Malaysia also learned English, as well as the local language, and became Malaysian citizens.
The same fire that refines gold, destroys dross, and it is not any fault of the fire. This kid & his family are dross.
