his body is in perfect shape, thanks to, yes, television, and the waves it emits

Diabetes and blindness are hallmarks of physical perfection? I'm obviously missing out!

I knew that the televised imagery of Rosie O'Donnell and Keith Olbermann (sp?)  is toxic and most likely carcinogenic, but I didn't suspect that it could do this  :-)

I can just see many here found decades after death glued to their computer screens smooching the Day in the Life of daily thread!

I would suspect that in reality, surfing Free Republic actually extends one's life in both quality and quantity, whereas surfing Democratic Underground and Daily Kos does the opposite, and does so exponentially. :-)

He could have had a mail slot in his door and if he received no large packages, the mail would just have piled up in his foyer.

Yes, to have made so few friends or even superficial acquaintances in life that one's passing not only goes unnoticed at the time, but remains so for over a year is such a tragedy.

Hopefully he is now in a place where friends are easier to come by.

All the old names have "not been changed to protect the innocent"; Zenith is owned by a South Korean firm, and probably somebody resurrected Philco, Emerson, etc. But they really don't have any connection with the original concerns.

Takes a village to raise a child.

Takes a village to allow its seniors to die.
