Luckily, Rudy has a very good chance of winning, even without your vote. Hey, it's democracy, we can't all vote for the same guy.

Christians aren't going to vote for him. They're already planning on staying home. They say they have no one to vote for this time. That's why the liberal press is pushing the liberal Republicans. It works every time.

Being warm and fuzzy has nothing to do with being likeable. He's likeable because he is genuine.

Reagan had conservative values but he could also get his message accross. If you can find a likable conservative that has broad based appeal great, but the pissed off angry guy just wont fly. It never has.

My gut tells me that Rudy is a conservative Manchurian Candidate.

I think you underestimate him....I don't know who I'm voting for....but Rudy will garner votes from Independents and many more moderates which really is most of the country, center left or center right.....

I watched the video and liked what Rudy had to say. I think that there is global warming because of natural long term cycles, and I don't think it is a pending disaster - but it makes sense to work to reduce pollution. Are you for pollution? I prefer to see us be good stewards of the earth.

I love the way you pick and choosed what you want in order to discourage Freepers from voting for Rudy.

"Giuliani said he believes global warming is occurring but is not sure how much is caused by humans, and suggested the U.S. should look at expanding its use of nuclear power and other alternative energy sources." - Newsmax

Oh, the irony.

We're using the ACTUAL transcript of what Giuliani said. You, on the other hand, picked and chose one single paraphrase quote from Newsmax to encourage FReepers to vote for Rudy. Now, you're busted.

Likeable? Huh? I though his selling point was that he was a "fork in your eye" NY brass-knuckles name-caller?

Now he's warm and fuzzy?

My husband just doesn't like him. He said he wouldn't vote for him, period. He says "It's something about the way he looks. I wouldn't trust him for a NY minute."

Why does the truth about Rudy, always bother you so much. Read what Rudy said ijn this part, he was very clear.

"I do. I do believe there's global warming. Yes. And...and I...I think there are...I'm not a scientist all I can do is look at the reports. I think the last one said that...uh...ummm...fir-fir-first of all there's definitely global warming as far as I can tell. I guess the big question has always been how much is it, how much of it is happening because of just natural climate changes and progressions and how much is happening because of human intervention - carbon in particular - and the overwhelming majority of the scientists believe that there's significant human cause that's making it more difficult, making it worse."

~~~ Rudy Giuliani Press Conference, Silicon Valley, Feb 12, 2007
LINK to Video
So Rudy believes the scientific experts, many who are leftwing environmental wackos, that there is "significant human cause" to global warming.
Significant means substantial.
Scientists have been telling us for the last 50-100 years, the Earth has been going through a period of warming since the end of the last ice age. The last ice age ended 10,000-30,000 years ago, depending upon who is talking on the subject matter. Algore is an extremist on Global Warming. Algore thinks humans have had a major impact on the Earth`s temperature rising.
Giuliani is coming down somewhere closer to liberals like Algore and A.Schwarzy, then to folks like Rush Limbaugh and climate expert Bill Gray, meteorology professor emeritus at Colorado State. Looks like Rudy is solidly with the liberals, AGAIN!
Congress still has power you know!
Really..... now you know that everything that happens is Bush's fault...... Heck the President rules in all things congressional or judicial. Giuliani or any other person would be no different don'tcha see. They'd wave a magic wand and abortion would be a thing of the past, gays would reform and never embrace that lifestyle again, no one would have to pay another dollar in taxes, the border would be locked down and no immigrant would ever enter this land of milk and honey again, jobs would be plentiful at huge wages, and on and on....
The truth is disneyland exist only in CA.
He's right about the nukes. As far as how much is due to human's, that's an easy calculation to determine the limits, and it doesn't require computer modeling. The computer models, must be bounded by those limits. Any greehouse gas generated by burning stuff, is a component of the total. It's a simple sum, so a percentage can be obtained. Even so, the total energy change due to the effect man has in that sum, is only ~0.35% in 2060. That's insignificant. It just indicates nukes out to be used abundantly.
>> I wonder if this will satisfy those asking, "Where's the beef?"
The beef-seekers have good reason to ask that question. Giuliani is making a serious effort to quell the discontent and he's doing so because he realizes the importance of reconciling his liberal positions with those of the Conservative base.
It would be nice to see the pro Rudy crowd contribute something other than the ongoing antagonism especially when the issues are absolute and fundamental to the base of the Republican party.
Thanks for your post. I was told by a pretty nice person (who does NOT support Rudy) that it really ticks them off to be pressured to vote for Rudy or anyone else that they don't feel good about.
And that makes sense to me. I don't like to be pressured either. So I'm suggesting that those who are for Rudy not try to pressure others or make them feel guilty - like saying that not voting for Rudy is voting to elect Hillary. Stuff like that. Just let them be. Let them rant(s).
It's way early yet. No one knows who the nominee will be. I'd like to see people get enthused about who they support and be persuasive - but not rude or controlling or disrespectful.
The Rudy-Talking Points are out. Its damage control time!
These people are employing Rudy`s own style of double talk in a futile attempt to spin his remarks, that are obviously more in line and in agreement with the Global Warming kooks, then climate experts like Bill Gray.
I live it. We go to various churches within the county. We know a lot of people out of state as well. Christians just aren't buying the idea that Rudy is a saint from NYC. When I ask them how they feel about Rudy, they just roll their eyes and ask if I'm kidding.
Think about it. Why would a Christian vote for a social liberal? Wouldn't that be a little self defeating?
