Bush Aides Like What They See In Guiliani
http://www.usnews.com/usnews/news/articles/070212/12giuliani.htm ^

While the White House is taking a hands-off approach to the 2008 GOP presidential primaries so far, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani is quietly seeing an administration cheerleading section grow.

One insider said that it is built on the fact that Giuliani continues to beat Sen. John McCain in the polls and also because he is offering to stick with several Bush programs, including an aggressive stance against terrorists, and promises to name conservative judges to the court. One Bush official today noted Giuliani's pledge to nominate conservative judges and applauded the New Yorker for making that claim in liberal California.

"He didn't back away just because he was in California. In fact, he went there to make that statement. That's a very important signal," said the insider. Interestingly, even White House conservatives are showing support for Giuliani.

"He's the front-runner, and he's doing everything so far very good," said another official. "He isn't bending to what people want to hear. He kind of sounds like Bush did in 2000."

Reagan appointed Rudy as his #3 man at Department of Justice.

Rudy was pleased to receive the Ronald Reagan Freedom Award.

It appears that Rudy Giuliani is campaigning as the lone antigun 2008 presidential candidate; even none of the Democrats are talking about gun control.

It worked so well for Elizabeth Dole in 2000 during her very brief campaign. Perhaps he has some of her advisers or, unlike Dole, Rudy may actually believe what he is saying on gun control."

What a Leftist!

The White House probably likes Guiliani because he supports the war in Iraq, he promised to appoint conservative judges and he has been a big backer of President Bush even in his darkest hour.

That is why I like him too.

"...an aggressive stance against terrorists, and promises to name conservative judges to the court."

Stop right there. If these aren't your two top priorities, nos. 1 and 1A, then bash away.

If these indeed are your top priorities (in my case, something akin to taking my next breath) then the rest is inconsequential.

Favoring gun control while governing a city of 9+ million? Shocking? Face it, the average NYC resident doesn't know squat about guns; guns in the hands of non-law-enforcement individuals in a city like New York serves few purposes - principally murder, armed robbery and cop-killing.

Rudy cleaned up a cesspool he inherited from liberals - does that compute? He took liberal stances on some issues to get elected in a decidedly liberal city, yet he respects the Constitution and will appoint strict constructionist judges - does that give you a clue about how important an issue like "gun control" is to him?

If abortion and gun control were his hot-button issues, would he be promising to appoint conservative judges? Would a liberal end the welfare culture that permeated NYC, forcing people back to work and off the dole? Would he be locking up panhandlers, or would he, as a "liberal", be championing their right to "earn" a living from the sweat of YOUR brow?

Would a liberal have kicked Al Sharpton to the curb in the first week of his Administration? Would a liberal have tossed millions of bucks back in the face of an Arab prince? Would a liberal have physically removed scum like Yassar Arafat from a reception, branding him a murderer and humiliating him on an international stage?

RINO. I laugh at that. Who decided what makes a RINO a RINO? Perhaps the real "RINOS" are those that myopically latch onto social issues over which the President has little control, and ignore what Republicans should really stand for today; a tough, non-appeasement stance on Islamic extremists, belief in appointing strict, constructionist judges, and low taxes.

Rudy gets top grades on all three.

To make the socially liberal Rudolf Giuliani seem acceptable to Republicans, George Will tolls the death knell for the party of Reagan.

Basically, George Will calls for us to abandon the Christian values of Ronald Reagan and the traditional Judeo-Christian values of our Founding Fathers. But if we abandon our Judeo-Christian moral values then what are we left with? What value system produces the culture of death and decadence, atheism, abortion, gay marriage, the harvesting of embryonic stem cells, human cloning, eugenics, the erosion and destruction of moral society and of our cherished God-given unalienable rights? And what value system fights against such evil?
To accept Rudolf Giuliani as the leader of the Republican party, among many other socialist mores we've fought against for so many years, we are told that we must accept abortion into our hearts. It is an accepted practice in modern America and only a minority of Americans say otherwise. Why resist?

Well, I'm sorry. I do not accept abortion into my heart. And I doubt the majority of Americans will either.

The mass murder of helpless innocent babies in the womb is evil. Period. Poking sharp instruments into the skulls of partially born babies and sucking their brains out is grotesque barbarism so horrific to be beyond the ability of most people to fully comprehend. It's unthinkable evil.

Knowing that the Democrat Party lovingly embraces this evil as part of their platform literally makes me sick to my stomach. Every time I see the face of Hillary, Kennedy, Schumer, Reid, et al, I see the face of pure evil. It's as if I'm looking into the face of Nazism

Rudolf Giuliani does not deliver us from this evil, he delivers us to it.

If the Republican party embraces this evil culture of death platform as the Democrat party does, then I will have to agree... it's time to move on.

The party of Reagan will be dead. The party of Lincoln will be dead. The party of Jeffersonian life and liberty will be dead. The only party defending human life and liberty in America will be dead.

The Republican party becomes the Democrat party and the Democrat party becomes the communist party, the right to life and liberty in America be damned.

Time and evil marches on.

Please pray for America.

Listen, and I mean this politely:

Rudy Giuliani's idea of "Strict Constructionism" is RADICALLY different from our definition of strict Constructionism.

Let me break it down:

1.) Rudy calls himself a strict constructionist.

2.) Rudy has praised Supreme Court justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg.

3.) Rudy expressly believes that the Second Amendment COMPELS us to strictly regulate guns. He has stated that a "well-regulated militia" means strict gun regulation.

4.) He believes that there is a place for junk lawsuits against gun manufacturers in the law.

5.) He believes that Campaign Finance Reform is consistent with the First Amendment.

6.) He believes that Hate Crimes Legislation is consistent with the First Amendment.

7.) He has openly stated that he believes Roe vs. Wade is good law.

8.) He sees a place in law for the Practice of Partial Birth Abortion.

9.) He tried to get an extension as Mayor of NY, and even tried to have the law changed so that he could run again - a very Hugo Chavez-eques view of election laws.

10.) He sued the federal government over strict immigration laws, and acted in direct defiance of those laws to make NY an amnesty city.

11.) His record of appointing judges in NY is that of a far-leftist. He does not have total influence over all of the appointments; but it is entirely dishonest to say that it would have been impossible to get a single Conservative judge, or at least Consensus moderate judge, appointed in his entire tenure.

---His record, world view, legal view, and history all point to a radically different view of "strict constructionism" that most of us have. He cannot be trusted on the judges issue, because he is not credible. On the contrary, all factors considered indicate that we should be TERRIFIED of his judgment on said issue.

He cannot sell us on the "I'll appoint judges who'll protect you from myself" argument because he is not credible on the issue.

Listen If I were abusing this forum I would have been banned a long time ago. But apparently I am following the posting rules that I signed on to. You guys are creating your own rules. Tell me where it say we can't post Rudy posts that are in the news? We haven't even posted anything at all from his website - all these posts are from legit news sources. So your idea of abuse is us liking someone you in particular are opposed to and that's all.
