In all but 12 states you can own a machine gun. I can where I live. Sorry. There is a difference is saying there are some places where you can not carry and banning firearms from ownership. You can not yell fire in a theater but the government does not tape your mouth shut so you can not. It only will prosecute you if you do. And BC (before Clinton) firearms could be carried onto school property many places. I carried one in college, had it in my dorm room. This was in 1980's. Some states till allow this. You need to read up a bit on the laws and constitutional law. Sorry. Have you ever heard of prior restraint. My privialge of practicing medicine is not a constitutional right. Learn the difference.
