They're sure making a big deal about the two black head coaches. Coke and Doritos are fighting it out to see who can be the most pandering and pretentious.

They are a bit lame, but so are all of the pharma commercials.

Supposedly, King Pharma is going to air a rather humorous spot this evening. We'll see.

Half time show is LAME. Fake band, lip syncn', etc. Why even hold a guitar when you can obviously see that Prince isn't even playing it.

Oh yeah, I bet you guys didn't know that both coaches are black!

Oh, and I LOL at the Blockbuster animal ones. I find animals highly amusing. Picture this: A beautiful chestnut stallion, tall and proud, wearing a pair of those over-sized giant sunglasses, with a ceeeegar clenched in his teeth! (Ronny Thomas, if you're seeing this, does it still make you laugh hysterically?!) Ya, I find animals funny.

My prediction: A black coach is going to lose this one.

Well, the last Coca-Cola ad convinced me that black is beautiful, baby!

I thought the Chevy commercial with the guys with their shirts off was good - just needed a bit more of the cowboy in the tightie whities at the end. Definitely could have lingered a bit longer for the ladies.

I always wondered: If you were "working for the man every night and day," how exactly did that count as "a good job in the city"? Can you spell PERJURY?

Maybe Nifong or Fitzgerald can make a federal case of it.

NAACP bowl so far too much way too much pandering.

Commercials are no good. Coverage is no good. My biggest complaint though is the main camera is fogged! This is the SUPERBOWL! There should be plenty of back up cameras.

They could even clean the rain off once and a while. Sad very sad.

...So if I'm, stepping on someone's toes, uh, well.....I haven't seen a thread yet that was devoted to the only part of the Superbowl I deem worthy of looking up from my knitting, (But, yes, DA BEARS).

AHEM! Try using the SEARCH function. There was a Superbowl Commercials THREAD that pre-dated yours by 5 hours.

I don't know about the commercials but Prince just put on a really good show in the driving rain. I have not ever been a fan of Prince but he rocked on tonight. The Stones would've really sucked in that environment. Just for the record, they sucked last year too.

Well, that Coke commercial was fairly worthless.

Yeah. Especially today.

Well, excuuuuse me! I did a search for commercials, didn't see any superbowl ones. It's not like I have slaved over this thread all season long...and it is just a thread about commercials! Isn't it funny how we get all territorial over threads here? My opening comment was a sly reference to the LIVE thread for the game. It's just a thread.

I'm not watching the SB, but if it's the ad I'm thinking of, it's a spoof of Grand Theft Auto.

I'm knitting a purse to be felted. I'm using Lion's Lanscape (boy, there's not much yarn in a skein) Rose Garden. It's so pretty, I wish I had bought all the skeins I found at half off last week. Oh, well, I'm trying to practice "safe stashing", so it's probably just as well.
