Whom does Hillary think she's fooling?
The Telegraph ^ | 31 Jan 2007 | Jan Moir

Posted on 01/30/2007 6:22:28 PM PST by Kitten Festival

Only a few days have passed since Hillary Clinton announced she is running for president, but already it is clear that much forbearance will be required from us all in the long months ahead. This is not just because Mrs Clinton has started wearing ominous pastels and smiling a lot, or appeared to enjoy a joke apparently about her husband's sexcapades in the White House — although these things do, of course, matter. No, what is so lowering about Hillary and her rush for power is the merciless, unapologetic, chisel-eyed way she has pursued her presidential ambitions over the past few years, and her blatant attempt to make over her naturally acrid persona into something that American voters might find palatable.

Even from an ocean away it makes painful viewing, like watching someone trying to fold a balloon into a matchbox, or form a rounded human being out of leftover ectoplasm and a Martha Stewart wig. Yet the New York senator seems unstoppable in her aspirations, attempting a soft-focus rebrand on herself as a homemaker of meek views and kindly disposition, ready to whisk around with the duster, cook Bill a nice, eggy supper and sort out world problems at the same time.

Her official website reveals that the woman who once sneered at Tammy Wynette wives who baked cookies now talks of the inner calm that she finds in housework and gardening, and of how cleaning out her closets brings relief from worrying about North Korea and Iran. "I can't get my arms around that," she says, modestly acknowledging that there are bigger global problems that she can contend with, although folding sweaters and chucking out old tights, alongside the occasional skeleton, is an enjoyable breeze in comparison.

Tell me that American voters aren't going to fall for Hillary's line that she finds inner calm by doing housework.

Good post Kitten!

I particularly liked this line: "Everything Mrs Clinton now does and says is a deliberate political statement, from the honey streaks in her hairdo to the girly pinks she chooses to camouflage herself in, although the effect of the latter is unconvincing: think killer shark prowling the shallows in a party frock."

A lot of women DO NOT LIKE Hitlery.

I'm serious when I say the most telling statistic is that the name Hillary set the record for the fastest fall on record with US Social Security Administration records.

From 1993 (the year most got REALLY acquainted with her) on, it fell like a rock, never to recover.

Popularity of the female name Hillary

Year of birth Rank
2005 882
2004 809
2003 a
2002 a
2001 886
2000 878
1999 856
1998 868
1997 725
1996 693
1995 684
1994 566
1993 261
1992 131

The British papers can be much more objective ... don't expect to read anything close to critical of Hildabeast in the liberal MSM (i.e., NY Times, Wash. Post, etc.) on this side of the Atlantic.

The characteristic in Hillary I most despise, which BTY is well shared by many Democrats (Clinton, Gore, Kerry, etc.) is THEIR ABSOLUTELY 100% PHONINESS! These people are purely sociopathic charlatans. And EXTREMELY dangerous.

We need to keep the Clinton sex jokes coming; she'll never put up with being laughed at for two years without throwing something at somebody.

I'll do my part:

Monica walks into her dry cleaning store and tells the guy, "I've got another dress for you to clean."

Slightly hard of hearing, the clerk replies, "Come again?"

"No," says Monica. "Mustard."

That really is a very telling statistic. The name peaked in 1992 when Bill and Hill got elected and then it tanked big time once people got to know Hitlery. Not even the name "Adolph" fell as hard from when people got to know him in 1939..... LOL!

1950 578
1949 607
1948 600
1947 671
1946 655
1945 565
1944 630
1943 553
1942 554
1941 446
1940 437

I think there are a lot of "insiders" who know Hitlery that would never want her to have the power of the presidency because they are afraid of her and what she might do to them. Dick Morris is an example; even though he is actively campaigning against her.

Line of the day !!

Tidying up/clearing out the other day I found two of Barbara Olson's books, on Hillary (Hell to Pay) and the pair of them (Final Days) and have since reread them. If only half of what she says is true neither of them should ever be in the White House again.

The closer is great too; the author has Hillary's reinvention campaign tagged:

Of course, all politicians are guilty of a little repositioning and shaving of principles when the occasion suits, but until Hillary Rodham Clinton came along, no one has ever dared to politically morph themselves to quite such an astounding degree. Will it work? Let's hope not.

"No, what is so lowering about Hillary and her rush for power is the merciless, unapologetic, chisel-eyed way she has pursued her presidential ambitions over the past few years, and her blatant attempt to make over her naturally acrid persona into something that American voters might find palatable." I disagree with this statement. What is so lowering about Hillary was her appearance in Iowa, when she said that no President should have to inherit Bush's mess, that he needs to clean it up ( Iraq)before the election in 2008.

This is NOT rocket science. How stupid does she think the electorate is? I am grossly insulted by the presumptiveness of this so called woman. She is indeed a witch, whose pretentions to presidential power are nothing more than her own recurring nightmare that she insists on sharing with us.

She has less chance of becoming president than a snowball has of not melting in Hell.

If Bush wins the war in Iraq, then Hillary doesn't have to worry about inheriting a mess. The president will likely be Republican. Yet she wants him to win the war becuase if she is elected, she doesn't want to have to deal with the mess of Iraq?
