I believe I would be forgiven because Christ forgave a prostitute while he was with us.

Right, and what was it he said after that? GO AND SIN NO MORE. You think its ok for a nun to help this man commit a sin?

Alright, I don't really want to ask, but I am gettin' curious.

Why am I wrong?

What do women really talk about in the can?

I think our sex drive about the same. I really think it is about the same because it can very from person to person. I have known some woman with a high sex drive. One thing I found in common was they were all single. I married a women who had a high sex drive when we were single. Her sex drive fell after marriage. I don't know whats going on, but I do know I am not interested in getting married.

Cash works for ugly people and for the fellow who knows what he wants, but does not want to put up with the all the BS. I know this is wrong, but this action is between two people, the laws of the State, and the God they may or may not believe in. And it does happen. People know it. The State knows it. And God knows it. Again, I'm not saying it is right, but I am saying that's the way it is.

Of course women have a sex drive...but except for some exceptions, I don't believe it's anywhere NEAR a man's drive.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

For heavens sake, there have been many women NEAR my sex drive!!!

LOL

All jesting aside, women who feel they are unatrractive , or are severly lonely, have horrendously powerful sex drives. When I was much younger, I met a wonderful young lady who had very thick glasses and braces. This was in the day before contact lenses were cheap, and easy to get. She had a picture of herself as being ugly. She actually was very beautiful. I was very attracted to her.

Her response was so overwhelming that I still get the leg shakes today thinking about it.

Na, if you please you may go and read my other post on this thread.

I went through a great learning process because of this thread and Hildy.

When I first saw the story, my compassion laid with the disabled virgin. I understood his needs and why the Nun would have compassion to help.

Then Hildy backhanded me and I stood back and looked at it from a different perspective. I was looking at it from the flesh. I understand this person's need because I am in the flesh too. I then looked at it from the spiritual side.

So what if he got his 2 minutes of glory here on earth. What if he would have received a mountain of glory in Heaven if he would have denied the flesh and feed his spirit instead.

What if the Nun did her job and feed this mans spirit instead of acting as a pimp for the flesh?

I am not going to judge any party here, but I think I would rather be the disabled virgin rather then the Nun when they get to the Pearly Gates. I think we all understand what this young man is asking for. But I don't understand how a Nun can act as a pimp?

If this was to happen, the Nun should not have been involved. And the media shouldn't be involved either. I don't think the story should be about a Hospice helping someone. It should be about a Nun who is not upholding the word of God.

If this Nun is so compassionate about the flesh of this man, and unconcerned about this dying person's eternal soul, then I would question how concerned she would be about her own flesh and spirit.

But also we should remember that the Big Guy has instructed us on the use of the body.

This may or may not be true. Very little instruction on the view path and action of training the body has currently come down to us through any of the Christian traditions. It might be there, but it is generally aphoristic, a series of maxims which are removed from direct practical instruction.

As to the nun being out of line, I have to agree with you as far as the church is concerned. As to whether individuals need to make such choices , and live with them, I think they should have the right to do so. Her choice may not have necessarily been a mistake. Celtic feminine wisdom is very much alive and well in the Scottish church, as is the wisdom of Roman women, especially in the Italian version. The church has to say it is wrong, but compassion is a tricky subject, best left to the decision of those actually on its battlefield of suffering.

The way Christ related to Mary Magdalene is a good example of this dynamic.Several of the disciples disagreed with him.

That is all I will have to say on this touchy subject.

I think closeness to God comes when we feed the spirit and deny the flesh.

Bingo!

Both sinned. What we don't know is if they repented and asked for forgiveness, vowing to avoid the sinful behavior.

If this Nun is so compassionate about the flesh of this man, and unconcerned about this dying person's eternal soul, then I would question how concerned she would be about her own flesh and spirit.

True and each person is responsible for their own behavior, sinful or otherwise.

It was meant tongue in cheek, now don't read anything sexual into that.

Since it is impossible to discern that from your post, I'll acknowlege this is your explanation for the remark. Tasteless as it remains, as it was certainly sexual in nature from your keyboard.

So it's preferable to you that a woman who isn't a prostitute commit adultery to "service" this young man's "needs".

Since I don't think it was appropriate that ANYBODY perform such a function your hair-splitting about the unfortunate use of prostitutes is perplexing to say the least.

Tell me, would you encourage your daughter or neice to do such a thing? Or your sister?

What if he'd wanted sex with a man, would you want your son to "deflower" this terminally ill man? Be honest please.

I see your point. I hope someone will correct me if I am wrong (HILDY? ;-), but I think Christ said feed the spirit and starve the flesh. Like I said, I may be wrong on who said it.

True and each person is responsible for their own behavior, sinful or otherwise.

That's right. The disabled virgin should not have brought the Nun in on his sin. The Nun should have also helped his spirit and not his flesh.

True, we don't know what is in their hearts. I think God is merciful, but he will chastise us when we need it. I am thankful for that too.

why?.....its just an animal act, an animal need.....why a sheep could have done the service and probably for free....

remember that when you're low on money.....

_____

Enough from you, I didn't reply to your first slap about me having no morality and "anything" goes.

For the record, I don't believe in the supernatural in any form, but respect those who do. In general, I'll put my morality up against anyone's. Sorry if I like sex and haven't gotten married.

As for telling me to remember touse a sheep when I run out of money, get off your high horse, remember that when you run out of friends.

Did you know that the birth control pill can drastically reduce a woman's sex drive? One of it's rarely mentioned side effects.

My husband and I almost separated early in our marriage. Thankfully, I got some good advice from our priest, we both grew up a little and our marriage and family have flourished!

Married sex without all the "barriers" is fabulous! ;o) Too much info? LOL!
