Is Female Genital Mutilation an Islamic Problem? (short answer: Yes!)

I guess not. My daughter has always been a difficult one. Drugs were a big problem in her life for a few years. She finally got straight and met this guy online. Next thing I knew they were living together. When she got pregnant she came home and I supported her during the pregnancy.....I went to the hospital to find he was there and she had given him full parental rights and my grandson had a Indian name and his last name. I was in shock as this guy hadn't bothered with her at all while she was pregnant....Next thing I knew she wanted a wedding but her rehabs had already cost us 60 grand out of pocket so I said I wouldn't pay for a wedding. She got married anyway ( I didn't go because she was mad at me )and then asked us to sponsor his green card. I flatly refused....Things aren't too good between us now. Last time I saw her before she left to go to England to school she was wearing a sari and had a jewel on her forehead....I also wasn't too pleased to get pictures of the baby wearing a turban. Its her life and she will live it the way she chooses to. She goes to the Gurdwara ( temple) with him so maybe she is Sikh now too. I really don't know. I didn't think the Sikh wore the jewels or bindi but I really don't know much about what they do. I am just happy she isn't a Muslim.

The best way I can explain the issue is this. You know how Christians have Christmas trees, yule logs, Easter bunnies and other pre-Christian pagan artifacts? Many believe these to be part of the religion, and an outsider would certainly see it as such. Female circumcision is in the same category. Islam as practiced, especially when you get out into the tribal boonies, looks like a mix of Islam and local pagan culture. Often, Islam is warped in order to practice those customs under the guise of Islam.

Good..... I read a story a few years ago where it was common for a barbershop to be used to do these barbaric rituals. Muslims would bring their daughters after hours and this old women would cut the little girls. Then she would use packing and sew the girls up. She was finally found out after so many little girls got infections. ....If the Muslims who are in this country are doing this then they need to be locked up.....these little girls suffer pain and infection and there is no need for it to be going on anywhere.
