new insight into how San Francisco police handled the investigation into a New Year's attack on a Yale University choir. Many are saying it was mishandled.
Now the story is getting coverage around the country and the world.
We're doing a running tally -- it's been 10 days and 17 hours since police responded to the attack on the Yale students, and they still haven't interviewed the victims. This case is getting city officials the kind of attention they do not want, around the world.
Since the I-Team broke the story of the New Year's attack on the Yale singing group, The Baker's Dozen, Monday, newspapers across the country have picked it up.
Today's New York Post reads, "Yale song birds are pummeled." The story's reached as far away as Canada, Australia and even India where the headline is "A cappella brings out worst in mob." It's a topic on national radio shows and ...
With the pressure building, Mayor Gavin Newsom finally addressed the controversy today...
Why is everyone hiring an attorney?" ...
The controversy would have gone away much more quickly had police handled the investigation differently.
After The Baker's Dozen gathered in a circle at midnight and sang "The Star Spangled Banner," the threats escalated. Nineteen year-old Richard Aicardi called in reinforcements, spotted in a van on surveillance camera. As the Yale singers trickled out of the party, they were surprised by the crowd waiting for them.
Sharyar Aziz: "It was apparent that there was no more threatening and intimidating, but rather they were out to hurt us."
Chief Heather Fong would not answer why investigators haven't interviewed the victims yet, especially for the three full days they were in San Francisco, just after the incident.

I wish San Francisco would just go ahead and concede from the Union.
Hannity offered a $10,000 reward on Hannity & Colmes tonight -- to catch whoever roughed up one of his guests.
They still hate America
And take the Ninth Circus Court with them.
Is this mayor the one that was married to the widemouthed girl on Fox, the one on the Line Up?
This story is finally getting some needed exposure.
Sean's $ 10,000 will get noticed, too.
I'm so glad I moved out of the socialist republic of the bay area.
What does the 4-1-5 mean ?
Does anyone think this statement makes any sense whatever?
Congratulations to this news team for their good reporting of this incident. It's all too rare these days.
You got it, but don't tell anyone (we think he's gay)
Of course not. Her masters won't let her.
This is an amazing story; let's post it all:

Today's New York Post reads, "Yale song birds are pummeled." The story's reached as far away as Canada, Australia and even India where the headline is "A cappella brings out worst in mob." It's a topic on national radio shows and many Web sites including The Drudge Report.
With the pressure building, Mayor Gavin Newsom finally addressed the controversy today.
Mayor Gavin Newsom, San Francisco: "I don't think it's good for the city, to answer your question, obviously it's not. But there's still a lot of questions I have. Why were these kids -- they're all under age -- why were they in a home with a lot of liquor? How'd they get the liquor? What the heck were they doing down there? Why is everyone hiring an attorney? Who's culpable, who's not?"
From comments on the I-Team blog, the incident is changing the image of San Francisco in many people's minds. Several from out of state write they will no longer vacation in the city.
Laurie Armstrong, S.F. Convention & Visitors Bureau: "Well, I'd like to see it go away." (laughs)
That's a concern at the San Francisco Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Laurie Armstrong: "The sooner this is resolved and fades from the headlines, the better it is for San Francisco."
The controversy would have gone away much more quickly had police handled the investigation differently. It all began New Year's Eve with a celebration in honor of The Baker's Dozen. Several young men crashed the party and began taunting the singers from Yale. They were the center of attention, dressed in their trademark khaki pants, blue blazers and ties.
Sharyar Aziz, Yale Student: "It was a lot of 'Get out of here, you don't belong here.' There was some reference to 'This is the 4-1-5.'"
Several young men ganged up on Sharyar Aziz and broke his jaw in two places. He's had reconstructive surgery. His jaw will be wired shut for eight weeks and he'll miss the varsity squash season.
Other members of The Baker's Dozen suffered black eyes, a sprained ankle and a severe concussion.
Outside last night's police commission meeting, Chief Heather Fong would not answer why investigators haven't interviewed the victims yet, especially for the three full days they were in San Francisco, just after the incident.
Heather Fong, SFPD Chief: "I can't answer that because based on the chronology of the situation I'm not prepared to address that at this time."
Fong will eventually have to address the inconsistencies in police reports obtained by the I-Team. At the end of the night, officers on the scene radioed in, "All parties want no police department action, no injuries." Both clearly were not true. Also on the incident report, an officer writes finding "no possible suspects."
But the dispatch sheet shows officers detained four young men, including two of Richard Aicardi's brothers who were identified by members of The Baker's Dozen.
Chief Fong told us she will look into the investigation as well as the attack.
Chief Heather Fong: "We are conducting the criminal investigation and as part of that if there are any concerns about, about department actions, we will be looking at that as well."
Police have dropped their demand that The Baker's Dozen pay their own way pack to San Francisco to be interviewed. Investigators will be heading to Los Angeles to meet with the young men and do a photo lineup tomorrow.
Yeah, Kimberly Guilfoyle. I had a crush on her about a year ago. Am I insane?!
I am sure it's referring to the S.F. area code (415).
"What does the 4-1-5 mean?"
Good question. I googled it and found nothing but Bible quotations.
Micah 4:1-5 (King James Version)
King James Version (KJV)
Public Domain
Micah 4
1But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.
2And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
3And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
4But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the LORD of hosts hath spoken it.
5For all people will walk every one in the name of his god, and we will walk in the name of the LORD our God for ever and ever.
It's a great passage, but I don't think the article was referring to it.
No, she's cute.
But did she divorce him because he's gay?
it's been 10 days and 17 hours since police responded to the attack on the Yale students, and they still haven't interviewed the victims.
Did you read this article? His quote is amazing.
What the heck is going on with this thing?
Thanks.
It's the area code.
the S.F. area code (415).
He's a lying, socialist, gay rights advocate....Get it?

A full scale CYA is in progress.
Not one word about finding the attackers and arresting them.
Probably a reference to the San Francisco telephone area code. That's all I can think of at this point. Perhaps a way of reminding the songbirds they were outsiders.
I don't know, but she just had her first baby, and she's married to this guy [Eric Villency], who's quite a bit younger than her...
It's the area code for the SF area.
It's a wanna-be street punk "turf" thing.
Well, he's pretty cute himself!
...and probably not gay!
San Francisco Area Code. I presume because the A Cappela choir was from Yale...out of town. ???
Ah, thanks. That makes more sense.
you're welcome :o). San Diego gets called the '619' (area code, again) a lot - made popular by Reggie Bush wearing the numbers on his eye black while playing at USC. I guess it's spreading....whatever...kids these days :o)
A gang name ?
Isn't that San Francisco's area code?
A full scale CYA is in progress.
a wanna-be street punk "turf" thing.
After asking my three kids if they had any idea and getting blank stares for a reply, I see the mystery has been solved..the area code...who would have guessed? LOL
The Mayor is implying that the chorus members were engaged in underaged drinking.
That, if false, is slander.

some have mentioned a gang turf want-a-be area ?
They should all claim to be gay, then it will be a hate crime worthy of SFPD's finest.
The attack happens outside the home of two prominent San Francisco police officers -- former mayoral bodyguard Reno Rapagnani, now retired, and his wife, Leanna Dawydiak -- who were both accused and later cleared of leaking internal SFPD personnel documents during the Fajitagate debacle.
As if that weren't enough, the dean of Yale College has weighed in, as has one of the victim's fathers, Sharyar Aziz -- a prominent New York banker whose son's jaw was busted in two places.
He has not only called the mayor's office and police chief -- he's also retained the law firm Gonzalez (as in former mayoral candidate Matt Gonzalez) and Leigh to keep the heat on the cops and make sure "the individuals behind this heinous assault (are) apprehended."
As Rapagnani tells it, his 19-year-old daughter was hosting a New Year's Eve party at the family's Richmond District home for the Baker's Dozen, who were in town as part of a West Coast tour.
witnesses said one of the uninvited guests -- who happens to be the son of a prominent Pacific Heights family -- pulled out his cell phone and said, "I'm 20 deep. My boys are coming."
According to Rapagnani and others, the Yale kids barely made it around the corner when they were intercepted by a van full of young men.

Reggie Bush wearing the numbers on his eye black
Somehow it is very easy to imagine what this woman's skull would look like.
Is the legal drinking age in San Francisco 19? These people had been affiliated with the SFPD and yet they let their 19-year-old daughter hold a party with alchol?
Looks like the President will have to send a few extra combat brigades into San Francisco...

...BTW, here's a picture of what I was talking about.
Thanks.
Next there will be the words : " This space for rent."
and someone will rent it, too.
