Somebody posted that Greer is to judges what Nifong is to DAs.

Nifong shows promise but he's still MILES behind Greer. So far the most damage he's done is to the reputation of progressive faculty members -- and for that he should get a medal! Let him get out there and kill, kill, kill, kill, kill. Let him stab America in the back as hard as Greer has. Then we'll see if Nifong has the stuff to make it in the big leagues.

Except for a few black race-baiters, Nifong doesn't have anyone on his side. Even the media has totally turned on him and that almost never happens when the "villians" are rich white kids.

In contrast, Greer sentenced Terri to death, ignored Congressional subpoenas and then ensured her death to the cheers of the media and the culture of death.

If you want to compare Greer to anyone, it should be Caiphas and the Sanhedrin.

I did. Let them decide.

You really should ignore these whackjobs. They've discovered that the life/death emotion is a wonderful tool to embarrass the right and further divide our base. The whole TS nonsense was the worst thing to happen to conservatism and FR in a long time.

Logic is no-good if overpowered by emotion.

And it did the pandering politicians exactly 0 good. They looked like fools and the people they were pandering to gave them no credit because, I don't know, they didn't break in and kidnap her?

Zero good and a lot of harm. I'm of the opinion that the embarrassment combined with the pandering by those that stuck their noses in, contributed to the shellacking we took in November.

I'm further of the opinion that demoncrap agents are in full fifth columnist mode here at FR. Sometimes I wonder if the honest among us are the majority of players. The TS nonsense allows the disruptors the epitome issue to divide us, all by the use of emotion over logic.

Lots of info loaded into this thread. #96 is a reminder that visitors have taken to repeating the DNC talking points from the recent elections, and discussing same with appropriate solemnity. I keep a straight face. Sometimes.

In #139 and #143, I put forward a theory of the crime and invited visitors to refute a single point in it. It covers the known medical facts. I don't know of any other theory that does. No refutation was offered, as usual. I also urge visitors to explain what caused Terri's injuries. For heaven's sake, if they know something, we want to hear about it! If they have one ounce of factual information exonerating Michael Schiavo, let us see it.

#176, 177, 178 and 179 are scientific or other research papers in support of the positional asphyxia theory. bjs1779 posted some eye-opening timeline info in #180 and #210. Note also #209. The Nancy Grace interview reported in #184 and #195 was a revelation -- especially Wendy Murphy's caustic observation that Michael Schiavo was already a "fraud on the court" back in 1993. How could a judge believe him after that? People still believe the bum.

I suspect the visitors listened to the media line on Terri's autopsy report and missed the main event: Dr. Thogmartin shot down Michael's only alibi. (His "alibi" was absurd in the first place.) So there he is, early Sunday morning, hysterical. With no explanation, his wife is lying on the floor, face down, in cardiac arrest, unconscious and unresponsive. Dammit, how did she get there? Seems a reasonable enough question, doesn't it?

Here's the most likely answer:

Domestic Violence is a Serious, Widespread Social Problem in America: The Facts

or, Some facts about Domestic Violence [Note the section on batterers and control freaks. Michael fits the profile.]

Many, many more statistics available on such subjects, but only one message: domestic violence is the leading cause of death and injury to young women. For Terri we can rule out disease, alcohol, drugs, suicide, and of course automobile wrecks, which covers just about all of the alternative causes for her trauma and near-fatal injuries. (After all, what is left?)

There is only one suspect and he has no alibi. Sounds as if he made a rather early "private medical decision" to "alter his wife's course of treatment," doesn't it?

o "70% of men who batter their partners either sexually or physically abuse their children."

o "Women are most likely to be killed when attempting to leave the abuser. In fact, they're at a 75% higher risk than those who stay." [Terri told her brother several months before her injuries that she was deeply unhappy and wanted to leave Michael and get a divorce.]

o "The number-one cause of women's injuries is abuse at home. This abuse happens more often than car accidents, mugging, and rape combined."

Plus many more statistics, observations and warnings...

>> Statistics about Domestic Abuse

P.S. Nobody EVER mentions bulimia.

Terri suffered lactic acidosis. I believe she developed the acidosis struggling desperately for breath and life while being pinned down in a prone position so that she could not breathe. Here is a passage from a paper associating metabolic acidosis with positional asphyxia, and this in turn associated with brain damage! Notice that the author strongly rejects a diagnosis of cardiopulmonary arrest as causative of death in circumstances such as Terri's, insisting that asphyxia is the cause. Transcribed from a PDF document; emphases in original; mistakes are my own.

- - - - -

Metabolic acidosis is a serious and dangerous state of chemical imbalance. When suffering from a state of metabolic acidosis, the human body's natural (involuntary) response is to "correct" it by hyperventilating. "Hyperventilation" occurs when the depth and frequency of respirations are increased. Increasing the depth and frequency of respirations effectively "blows-off" the excess acid that is adversely affecting the body's systems. But, if the Victim's ability to normally breathe is impaired or prevented, hyperventilation clearly cannot occur, and the Victim is prevented from naturally-correcting the acidosis overdose he is suffering.

Profound metabolic acidosis has consistently been noted in deaths "associated with cardiovascular collapse following exertion in a restrained position," and in other forms of asphyxial (suffocation) deaths.

However, profound metabolic acidosis is NOT a finding associated with victims of a "common" cardiopulminary arrest -- a sudden-occurring "heart attack," caused by heart disease or heart circulation problems.

Thus, if the restraint asphyxia Victim is documented as being in a state of metabolic acidosis upon his emergency department arrival (especially in spite of rapidly-provided pre-hospital resuscitation measures), and no autopsy evidence clearly identifies another cause of his death; anyone who opines that his death was due to "cardiopulmonary arrest" does so without ANY form of scientific or forensic supportive evidence.

In fact, anyone who opines that the death of ANY victim of such a profound state of metabolic acidosis measured upon his arrival at the emergency department was solely due to "cardiopulmonary arrest," does so in spite of scientific and forensic evidence that the Victim's death was much more likely due to some form of asphyxia.

Another side-effect of the unusually-exertive muscular activity is "energy" depletion -- depletion of the body's sugar stores; something that can lead to dangerous states of low blood sugar. The more-forcefully muscles are required to work, the more sugar they use up to do so.

As more and more sugar is used up by unusually-exertive muscular activity, less and less sugar is available to the muscles, causing all the body's muscles to become less-well fueled, and more and more fatigued.

The more sugar that is used up to fuel unusually-exertive extremity muscular activity, the less sugar is available to the Victim's BRAIN -- which means that his brain-tweak gets worse, and brain damage can occur!

There is no such thing as logic without truth. You must start with truth, and work from there. Discarding the truth, due to whatever emotional involvement you have, has caused your inability to be logical.

>> Gurgling, reaching toward her throat, and sporting bruised and broken bones.

Broken back, fractured rear area of ribs near the spine -- now, that is extraordinary and not a product of resuscitation efforts. Bone bruise on the femur -- another most unusual injury that required tremendous force. See why I think those two places were where he had his knees? Pressing down with a man's weight over 250 pounds.

Now picture him putting one hand on her neck to pin her head down. That accounts for the stiff neck (diagnosed at the ER and several times later) that bothered her the rest of her life. It gives a no-nonsense explanation how she suffered the internal neck injury without any of the characteristic marks of strangulation.

Read #234, BB. I think it's a genuine addition to our growing body of scientific indictment. At least I had not seen her lactic acidosis associated all the way to brain damage. But it makes sense. The acidosis is a product of anaerobic exertion -- no oxygen -- and the brain damage itself was due to oxygen deprivation.

Poor gal didn't have a chance. She was so close to death that they needed seven defibs.

A nothing news item today, except it's a reminder how decent people, even Freepers, got a badly distorted view of Terri's condition and prognosis from the media.

Terri Schiavo's brother to speak in N.H.

Short story. Note this one short paragraph:

"Terri Schiavo was diagnosed as being in a persistent vegetative state after her heart stopped in 1990. Doctors thought there was no chance she would recover enough brain function to survive without life support."

How much disinformation can you cram into two sentences? Terri hadn't been on life support for fifteen years. She needed only food and water to survive, not more "brain function."

The world may yet learn who stopped her heart that fateful night.

I believe it was Goebbels who developed the leftist practice of repeating a lie often enough that people begin to accept it as the truth.

I remember how FReepers were so amused four years ago when "Baghdad Bob" was telling reporters that Saddam was still in power, there were no American troops in Baghdad, etc. And then many of these same FReepers accepted without any second thoughts the lie that Terri was on life support.

Goebbels was certainly blamed for it. But it suddenly strikes me that the accusers were Communists who did just as much lying. Anyway, serial lying must be as old as humanity.

Hmm, no, a lot older than that :-) An Interview with Satan, the Father of Lies
