What on earth is wrong with Buchanan? Does he ever write anything encouraging any more?

So then what was Bill Clinton itching about when he named the 'neocons' as preventing him from taking on OBL?

Of course, none bother trying to refute his argument, which is irrefutable: the neocons egged Bush on to invade Iraq, and now they blame Bush for all the problems in Iraq, taking none of the responsibility themselves. What a cowardly and despicable crew the neocons are.

I have to agree with you. Everyone from old man Bush, Colin Powell, to Brent Scowcroft warned Dubya, but he wouldn't listen to them. In 1990-91, we had the manpower to do the job, but the always cautious Colin Powell knew occupying an Arab country might lead to disaster.

Yet compare the treatment of Powell and Rumsfeld on this very site.

Apparently, being on the right side is more important than being right.

It's a war with Iran, which is really the enemy we needed to take on in the first place. So let's get it done.

Are you going to volunteer?

Let me be the first to say that 99% of the time I think Patty is an idiot. This is one of those times, however, when I am forced to agree with him at least as far as the incompetence this administration showed is concerned. If David Frum, of all people, says Bush screwed up, then you know something is wrong. I'm just sorry that many Freepers who should know better insist on "Staying the course" in their blind worship of our Great Leader.

Sorry to be so flippant in my post, but Iraq has been argued to death.

I was seriously asking if you guys will run Pat.

You should, really and sincerely.

I would love to see what he has got, once in office.

I was never a big supporter of Pat for office. I did vote for him in a primary, but I would prefer someone with real governing experience.

About the most "governing" experience that Pat has is running his journal.

I really wish that Lawton Chiles hadn't beat out Jeb in his first run at the Florida statehouse. Then maybe Jeb would have been president. He's a bit more traditionally conservative in my mind than George who appears to be more radical in his support of worldwide democracy and "compassionate" conservatism.

Now it seems that a Jeb candidacy is too "politically" incorrect. I'm leaning toward Guiliani for all his governing experience even though he is a leftist on social policy. If we had a Republican congress and Giuliani for president that might be the best match: a professional executive prevented from enacting leftist reforms by a Republican majority.
