They could cap the volcanoes, but I would suggest banning cars first... And power plants. That would put them pretty close to the national average, if they did that.

The state's Air Resources Board who forced MTBE on everyone -- I hope to live long enough to see 'em hanging from lamp posts.

There are not enough pejorative words in all the languages of the world to describe these pukes.

"Paul Ezekiel"

This one here's my favorite! "Ezekiel saw the wheel" and like that! Well heck! Once they get all this Pete Wilson/Robert Kennedy, Jr. poppycock bureaucrazy in place, it'll take a total conservative revolution in CA to up-root all this crappola and people on here will still be sayin:(high-pitched whiney voice)"Well it's better than Phil Angelides or Gray Davis or Cruz Bustamonte!"

It's just hard to believe that Republicans are helping all these crazed GANG-GREEN whackos accomplish each and every one of their wildest wet dreams to an extent beyond what these hard leftist/Socialist deviants could ever take the process... It's gonna "bring it all down, man," just like the Berkely protester screamed at communist Country Joe McDonald in the 1960's.

Just ask that guy that writes for FrontPageMag.com that used to be one of 'em. I can't think of his name this second. It's just hard to believe there are FReepers that are willing to stand around and watch this happen and continue to cheerlead for the GANG-GREEN "R" Governor. In fact, it's sickening!!!

That roster is like the passenger list on the great CA Ship of Fools!!!

Disproportionate to other states.

What is the basis of measuring "proportion"? Are you just saying that California has more emissions than other states?

It is not surprising that California would have greater emissions than Delaware or Rhode Island, or any number of states. All things are not equal, nor should they be given differences in population, contribution to GDP, etc.

Wood burning fireplaces are already regulated on a voluntary basis when the thermal conditions are right. That's here in the San Joaquin Valley, (far north of Bakersfield). I asked a friend who works for the California EPA how this would be enforced if it ever became mandatory. He just laughed. There is only one EPA inspector for the whole valley. It would probably turn into neighbor turning in neighbor, or they will use satellite imaging, like a red light camera, and then you'd get a ticket in the mail. I don't like the direction it is going. Wood burning fireplaces are "cool".

True. But I'm quite willing to let CA take the lead on this.

New York ought to follow next. They must be way up on the disproportionate list.

Wasp, some people are simply wowed by celebrities like the Austrian and will follow them like lemmings, always defending them--even when there really is no defense. Arnold is now completely out of the closet and it should be clear to every single Republican in this state that he is a liberal and RINO. He purposely misled everyone during the runup to the recall/election by talking like a true conservative. After he got his nose bloodied by the public employee and teachers unions, he did a 180o turn and has been tacking further left with every passing month.

He should be recalled.

When the economic ruin that is inevitable rains down on this backward and communistic state, perhaps the rest of the 49 will come to its senses.

Naw, they'll blame it on the fact that the other 49 aren't paying their fair share, or that they don't have enough programs to "stimulate" the economy.

I'm so sorry that I had to "hold my nose" when I voted for Arnold. Unfortunately, he was the lesser of two idiots.
