The Bullet Hole was also my "home" range for the years I lived in SA. It's also where I took the CHL class.

FYI - Red Roof Inn San Antonio - Lackland Southwest is close to the range. There's also a LaQuinta, two actually, not far from the Range, but I was thinking of the one on West Military and 90, quite near the Red Roof Inn, there's also an Econo Lodge, a HoJo's, a Best Western, A little farther away, but more likely to be available, and still quite near the range, are a a Motel 6 and a Super 8. All but the last two are essentially right outside the Lackland gate, and might be booked up by families of Air Force Basic Trainees, either for Graduation and for their day and a half of Liberty. Graduation is on Friday, but the graduates get a "Town Pass" on Saturday, and Base Liberty on Sunday, so many parents and other relatives might stay over Saturday night. 
The only ones I've stayed in are the LaQuinta near the gate, and another at Culebra and 410. The first well over twenty years ago, back when I wore the blue suit, albeit as a reservist, and the other fairly recently when I was TDY back to San Antonio a couple of times. (I've also stayed in two other La Quintas but those are on I-10 north of 410 and at 410 and 281, a bit of a drive from the range (but not all that far either). I'll probably stay at one of the LaQuintas, either Friday or Saturday, since I'm a "Frequent Stayer" and likely will have enough points for a free room. That's what I did in Houston for the 1st shoot.
