Former Democratic vice presidential nominee John Edwards intends to enter the 2008 race for the White House, two Democratic officials said Saturday.
Edwards, who represented North Carolina in the Senate for six years, plans to make the campaign announcement late this month from the New Orleans neighborhood hit hardest by Hurricane Katrina last year and slow to recover from the storm.
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they did not want to pre-empt Edwards’ announcement.

If I remember correctly, he didn't distinguish himself in 2004, in spite of his great hair and smile. What makes him think that this will be any different?

Well, Comrade Edwards will talk about the two Americas again -- the bourgeoisie and the proletariat -- and hope that resonates.
But by making this a center-piece, Edwards accentuates his weakness on foreign policy. His worldview suggests the United States is the big bad bourgeoisie and the Revolutionary Islamists are just angry proles. I guess they are strapping bombs to their kids, flying airplanes into skyscrapers, and hanging with David Duke for, well, no for religious reasons, government entitlements like healthcare, education, and a true, secular, socialist democracy.
The lets-bring-everyone-together style of Comrade Obama has an advantage. That fits in with the liberal Star Trek view of reality where we can have our cake and eat it too. We can defeat our enemies with appeasement and talk, and we can have a vigorous free market with the help of big government socialism. Anyone who pours cold water on this view will be a big meanie lacking "optimism" and "faith in America," which will work to Comrade Obama's benefit, and not Comrade Edwards.
I still give the odds to the Clintons, who simply play vicious politics. But between Obama and Edwards, Obama is much better at selling Marxism to Americans.

Edwards is polling the best of any Democrat in general election match ups. It's interesting how little buzz he gets despite of that.
He's not man enough to take on Hillery.

Even the "smartest woman in the world" must kneel at the altar of the MSM and if the MSM maintains it's mantra with Obama, Hillary may have to succumb to her own vice of placing the liberal media on that altar.

As one of the lightest of the political lightweights, this should last for about 3 primaries before he pulls out and returns to his well-deserved obscurity channeling dead babies in ignorant court-rooms.
