Illinois animal rights activists (and horse lovers) have been having a fit over the failure of the legislature to pass a bill banning horse slaughter. Apparently you can't eat pretty animals. :-)

I've got to use that as my tag line.

Consider it a gift. Merry Christmas!

Dang straight. Never met a dumb kid in drama club, never knew a dumb kid who was in band or chorus.

It's similar to the illogic that states that since the economy grew when Clinton was president, it grew BECAUSE he was president, though it doesn't endeavour to explain why.

I don't know. My wife ate horse in Belgium as a student 35 years ago, said it was very unpalatable.

I recall seeing a photo of a SE Asian on a moped with several bald (fur boiled off) dead dogs strapped on the back. Headline said: "One man's pet is another man's pot roast." I suppose that covers it as well as anything.

As far as toxins, I'd guess flea collars contribute more to that than any diet.

On thinking about it, I would guess so. Especially since horse is muscle, rather than fat. Fat is what makes the meat so tender.

Let that be a lesson to everyone. You ever end up in a Donner party type of situation the fat guy should be the first to help feed the survivors. Not that I have any plans of the kind.
