I'll have the roast duck with mango salsa.

Yep...I think a plate of BBQ baby backs and chicken will more than make up for my grief over the loss of five points.

>Past exponents of a meat-free lifestyle include George Bernard Shaw and Benjamin Franklin. This bit of dreck passing for a scientific article could also have mentioned Hitler was a vegetarian too, but I guess that would have destroyed the 'meat eaters are bad' meme.

My son told me there is a study that shows head-bangers are more intelligent. (He used to bang his head as a toddler)

"....have IQs that are around five points higher than those who regularly eat meat."
This is a pretty meaningless differential. It's pretty presumptious to believe we can actually measure intelligence when nobody's ever really even defined it. (at least not to my satisfaction) The wisdom vs. smarts dynamic is difficult to get your arms around.

Vegetarians don't care about the planet!
Simple logic.
Problem: Cow flatulence causes holes in the ozone layer.
Solution: Reduce the cow population: Eat more beef!
Whats the matter vegetarians? Don't you love the planet!

Vegetarians are more intelligent, says study =========================
Yeah, but vegetarians are generally sickly, pale and weak.
How smart is that?

"the researchers say it isn't clear why veggies are brainier"
I guess the researchers weren't smart enuff to figure that out. Perhaps if they had been vegans they might have had a shot.

I believe this is simply a typographical error.
The headline should read; "Vegetarians think they are more intelligent, says study."

OK. If they're so smart, how come they're eating vegetables? It just doesn't add up. Ademas, how come crows (meat eaters) are so much smarter than sparrows?
