I don't think five points is all that much to brag about...
Especially when they paid NO attention to WHEN the conversion happened.

But now it seems they may have the last laugh, with research showing vegetarians are more intelligent than their meat-eating friendsWere those who conducted the study also vegetarians?

Five IQ 'points' in a 15 point standard deviation is ignorant of basic statistics.

Of course, the studies cited by
The Bell Curve showing differences in IQ between races had to be immediately disavowed. Somehow, I doubt the reaction to this story will be quite the same.
But I demand, demand that everyone ignore the results reported in this story, as it fuels the ongoing institutionalized discrimination against carnivores. Carnivorist! ;-)

I think the test is dicriminatory, and should be altered to accommodate my lifestyle.
Also, reparations are in order.

However, vegans - vegetarians who also avoid dairy products - scored significantly lower, averaging an IQ score of 95 at the age of 10.That paragraph contradicts the headline. Plus I see no mention made of adult IQ testing.

Yes, in this day and age, IQ tests are likely veggie-centric. I thought mean old white meat-eating guys only could retch up IQ tests.

There was no difference in IQ between strict vegetarians and those who classed themselves as veggie but still ate fish or chicken. However, vegans - vegetarians who also avoid dairy products - scored significantly lower, averaging an IQ score of 95 at the age of 10.

If this is true, please explain how our forefathers who ate much meat, drank water from lead pipes and ate from dishes colored with cadnium etc. were able to build what we have today. If God did not intend for us to eat animals, why did He make them out of meat?
To: MadIvan
The article is confusing cause with effect. Vegetarianism is an intellectual concern, so it's no mystery that people who practice it have slightly higher IQ scores. This is like claiming that watching public television increases IQ.
