Thousands of Hamas supporters gather at Rafah crossing, European monitors meant to approve Palestinian prime minister’s passage into Strip refuse arrive at crossing for fear of attack; exchanges of fire erupt between Hamas gunmen, Fatah security officers

Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh's passage from Egypt into Gaza is being delayed further Thursday evening due to the fact that European monitors, who are supposed to approve his entry into the Strip, are refusing to make their way to the Rafah crossing for fear that the thousands of Hamas supporters who had gathered there would attack them.

Earlier Palestinian sources reported that an agreement had been reached between Israel and the PA, wherein Haniyeh would leave the money (some USD 30 million) in the Egyptian city of el-Arish and that it would be transferred to the Palestinian Authority within the upcoming days; however, it now it seems that Haniyeh’s return to the Strip is being delayed by the monitors’ refusal.

As word of the drama in Rafah spread throughout the Strip, Hamas leaders called on thousands of the group’s supporters to make their way to the crossing and assist in taking it over. During the gathering exchanges of fire took place between Hamas gunmen and members of Mahmoud Abbas’ Presidential Guard; additional gun battles erupted between Hamas gunmen and Egyptian security officers, who attempted to prevent the crowd from reaching the border fence.

At least 10 people were injured in the clashes.

Put Haniyeh in an EU "Peacekeeper" jacket and helmet, duct tape his mouth shut and release him into the crowd of his crazed admirers.

EU Peacekeepers. What the hell is that? Now, if it was to read EU Appeasement Keepers, I might be able to figure it out. I am soooo sick of this whole sherade. How long can the world keep turning a blind eye to the threats that are so blatantly thrown in our faces, day after day? What the hell is wrong with us? I just don't know anymore. We stand idly by, with our collective finger, up our collective butt, and say, and do, nothing. It just boggles the mind.

The only good news coming out of the middle east these days is the massively genocidal way that Muslims are killing one another off.

That's the secret to this whole problem. Put them all together in one place, put up a fence, and challenge them to decide amongst themselves who the "real Muslims" are. They'd be extinct in a generation.

Hamas and Fatah should be killing each other every day. Eventually there would be no one left in Gaza, Israel could reclaim it and put it to good use, and the EU "peacekeepers" could go home.
